    snacks

The Quest chips that say “tortilla style” are better. A serving of turkey pepperoni is 15 slices but I usually just grab 5 or 10 depending how hungry I am.

I swear I do wear clothes other than workout clothes haha but I’m in love with these leggings 😍 so I decided to share them on OOTD ! I’m also fully aware that in place of a butt I just have a long back 😂
  15. So I just read my comment and it does sound a little snippy haha I was tired and I knew that if I didn’t put that atleast one person if not several would have something to say about The preworkout or the fact that I’m weight training and then probably hit me with a YouTube video with the coo coo Dr who tells everyone not to workout for 6 months lol. I was an athlete all my life and was still lifting weights regularly and running (of course way slower and less distance) before surgery despite having gained so much weight so that played a big part in him being okay with me getting back into routine and said he trusts that I know how to listen to my body. My workout routine is 7 days a week. I work with a trainer 5 days a week (I work rotating shift work so that means if im on “days” I’m in the gym at 2am before I go to work and not many trainers offer sessions at that time lol). We do full body free weights, machines, body weight exercises, running, biking and some kick boxing and cross fit moves incorporated some days. She changes up the routine daily depending on the area of the body we are working on so it’s never boring. Some days we hit it HARD and other days where we need a little recovery we go light. I also walk as much as possible throughout the day. Today for instance we were working lower body with a focus on balance so we did lots of squats... dead lift squats, sumo squats, split squats, jump squats, one leg squats, up downs, renegades.... you get the point ... I’ll be walking like a new born giraffe in the morning 😂
  16. And yes before anyone asks my surgeon is aware of my pre & post gym drinks we started back when I resumed hitting the weights pretty hard (which yes I’m also cleared for)

    July 2019 Surgery Siblings Post-Op

I’m VSG. I’m 43 days out. My restriction is pretty tight. The only things I’m able to eat more tan 3 or 4 bites of are slidier food like thin beans or soupy textures. 98% of what I eat is protein so 3/4 bites and I’m tapping out.

    July 2019 Surgery Siblings Post-Op

Whaaaaa ?? How far out ? Mine would have stopped me dead at the first egg lol
  20. My husband and I had VSG on 7/9 along with a hiatal hernia repair for me. We had our 1 month post op weigh in Friday. Before we had this surgery we made a pact that if we were spending all the money to do this we were not going to do the minimum we were DOING IT “like a boss”. Following the plan, working the program, working our asses off in the gym, and leaning on each other for support when we need it. The first couple weeks of surgery are HARD, mentally more so than physically. But physically sometimes it sucks too, you will have side pain sometimes, you’ll be nauseated sometimes you’ll throw up sometimes. But it’s all so worth it. Mentally your mind is racing what have I done to myself? This liquid diet sucks! Since when are there so many food commercials? You sometimes have mental cravings so strong that make you feel so desperate you might even cry. And in that low dark place you will long for the comfort of food, but food cannot comfort you anymore. It’s almost like a grieving process and it SUCKS but it gets better. Eventually if you keep saying NO ! Those cravings fade away. I’m not saying I don’t have any cravings anymore but they are few and far between and easily dismissible. I also consider myself “lucky” to have a picky pouch, if I eat a bite of something something that’s even the least bit fatty or greasy it’s coming back and I’m cool with that because it definitely makes me have zero interest in those types of things. Me, my eggs, deli turkey, turkey pepperoni, shredded chicken, string cheese, and PB 2 have become pretty good pals. For the first time in my life I eat to live instead of living to eat. We went through every step of this together from the consultations to the pre-op requirements to surgery and continue to fight this DAILY battle as a team. This surgery has already changed our life in so many ways and i have no doubt that it will continue to have such a positive impact. This surgery has changed the two of us, it has changed our marriage, our relationships with others and our lives as a whole. It’s been a wild fast ride. Neither of us have one ounce of regret this is absolutely the best decision we’ve ever made. We push each other every day and I can’t imagine having gone through this alone without that support. Surgery Day 7/9/19 - 340 & 290 lbs Friday 8/9/19 - 272 & 241 lbs Total loss since surgery- 68 & 49 lbs Loss as a couple - 117lbs
  21. Since you mentioned corn and will already have the grill fired up ....Fresh corn on the grill is like my most FAVORITE thing in the world! All you do is shuck it and then rub it with EVOO and sea salt. I haven’t brought carbs back yet but ouuuu corn I’ll see ya on the flip side!
  22. I said I wasn’t going to be one of those boring people after surgery, that I was going to get creative and turn old favorites into healthy dinners but I admit it I’ve totally fallen into boring. Boring is easy. There’s no guess work. I know how much my pouch can take without a punch in the chest. My pouch is happy with boring. And most importantly boring WORKS.

The Best Decision We’ve EVER Made

@rs our kids still eat regularly but at least both of us are eating the same way. @Briswife15 Thanks! I’m very happy to have reached 49 but I can’t say I wasn’t a little salty when he hopped on the scale and had lost 68 but that’s always the case with men lol Because our weight loss will obviously slow soon, and it’s unpredictable when or how much, we’ve set all our month two goals as NSVs because I don’t want to set it on a weight loss speed that’s very unpredictable right now.
