  1. Well I'm new to all this lap-band socializing. Honestly hardily anyone knows that I had the procedure..I almost didn't tell my family but my boyfriend said he would tell her if I didn't..guess he is a pretty good guy. No one at my job knows so really the only people that know are my immediate family...and I asked them not to tell people. I'm not a 'Star Jones' wanna be...I just grew up in a family of athletes and to them I felt this would seem like I failed. I never had the hardships of growing up overweight..I didn't gain weight until adulthood...2 kids and a divorce later. So all my struggles I have had with my lap-band I have had to keep repressed..then I found this website and it's a GREAT out let to tell all how I am feeling and see that others are going through the same things.
  2. Feeling Good

Well I have feeling much better since I have FINALLY decided to work-out more frequently. I can really see a change in my body now since I had the last fill.I was getting a bit worried because I have my first fill and they put only 4cc (which is standard I'm told) well it felt like nothing and I kept overeating. I even gained 3 pounds back. Well since I had my second fill it's made a world of difference. I don't eat very much and have lost 8 pounds in about 5 days!!! I am a bit concerned though because a friend of mine who also had the lap-band had an adverse effect. She had her surgery almost a year ago and her band is really restricted. Well it turns out her esophgaus is expanding..if I remember correct I think it's called esophageal dilation or something like that. That's serious though and is one of those things yeah you hear about over and over at the seminars but for me at least don't really think about because you sooo badly want to loose weight. So there is some food for thought I guess. I really thought she was taking good care of her too so it is a bit shocking.
