You are awesome!

Hey ya'll, So I'm definitely noticing changes in my body. One think I didn't expect... When standing up straight, there's a little roll under each side of my booty that is definitely not full of anything anymore. Anyone else have that? And exercises that can specifically help that besides squats? Thanks!

My surgeon said CAFFEINE is FINE :)
apiane replied to New&Improved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know, I had a real addiction to Diet Coke, but I found myself able to wean myself off using Powerade Zero and Crystal Light in water. As for caffeine, I have a caffinated coffee every 4-5 days. I haven't had any headaches or any problems. So it's doable! Lemon lime Gatorade Zero is pretty good too I just prefer the Powerade Zero grape. -
Woohoo! Rock star!

I didn't have to do any prep. I'm glad that sounds like it would suck. Good luck! You'll make it :-)

As said above, swelling goes down. You're on track!

Welcome! I hope your pain stays well controlled. My gas didn't come out the back end until my second day. So just be patient.

@SorryNameTaken Here's what I was talking about. This is their Butt Lift Challenge. Moves seem pretty beginner.

They sell them on Amazon, but I don't remember how much they were. My hospital gave me one. Maybe ask your surgeon and they could make you one? -
Yay it's not just me. There's a website and YouTube channel Blogilaties (sp?) and they have monthly plans, from beginner to more advanced and they have videos that go along with the workouts. I know they have some good butt workouts so I may try following one of their beginner plans. But besides that and squats I don't know.

Ashley here! Just turned 34, in Missouri. I'm a little over 2 mo out from gastric sleeve and I've lost 42 lbs! In a little stall right now but I lost a pound last week so chugging along. Hi everyone!

Several of my friends are in wonderful marriages now after meeting on Eharmony. So I would recommend that. Tinder is good for a hook up but not something serious. My mom won't do Eharmony (she doesn't like some questions on the questionnaire. Basically they try to figure out if you have racial sensitivities to better match you. I don't see a problem with it, but she was offended.) and she has casually dated from Match, but never found anything serious. Hope that helps!

apiane replied to New&Improved's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I ended up staying 2 nights. My doctor had originally said 1. Things change. -
Finally reached all foods... what should be on my grocery list?

Hey ya'll, Trying to decide what to buy now that I have no restrictions. I've seen lots of deli meat and string cheese. I will still eat greek yogurt. But I want more ideas! Help! -
So what are you unable to eat now?
apiane replied to mlmx1138's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm so gun shy. I don't think I'm going to try to eat an egg until Thanksgiving when I know there will be deviled eggs. I'll try one. But I don't like feeling sick. I haven't thrown up yet and I don't plan to lol. -
So what are you unable to eat now?
apiane replied to mlmx1138's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't eat scrambled eggs either! And I'm so sad because I love eggs. But I ate them two breakfasts in a row, did not overeat or eat to fast, and was HORRIBLY NAUSEOUS after! Went back to greek yogurt and was fine. -
Failed attempts of Medical weight loss? Independence Blue Cross

Yeah just ask the insurance coordinator at your surgeon's office. They are a WEALTH of knowledge! -
Just a plug for the sleeve and Type 2 Diabetes. Within 1 month of surgery, my A1C went from 8.5 (diabetic) to 5.2 (not even close to pre). I had lost 25 lbs. So it doesn't have to be the bypass. I only have a little under 100 lbs to lose, so the fact that you have 180 lbs to lose I might lean towards the bypass, but I think both will work for you. And I'm with you, I found the sleeve much less invasive, even WITH them getting rid of 85% of my stomach. Just food for thought.

Pre op diet and cheating
apiane replied to brandimichellexo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not that I think cheating is good... but I stuck to my (more restrictive) pre op diet religiously, and my liver was still big. They had to use a bigger tool and I ended up with two more incisions, but they were able to do it. Luckily my surgeon believed me that I stuck to my diet. I was really disappointed about it. -
I was on the 5th!

Okay this is definately a gal question. I don't shave my legs because honestly I have a real hard time without because of my stomach. My husband doesn't care and I don't wear shorts or skirts. But I'm trying to decide if I should before surgery... or if no one is going to care. What do you think?
