    Frusterated with no restriction

Hi KatCap, I was banded on April 8th, 2008. Lost 5 pounds pre-op, 8 pounds in the first two weeks post-op and have been stuck ever since. I have no restriction at all!! I can eat as much as I did before being banded, so it takes all my will to limit my portions (Went to bed hungry last night....wait, that is almost every night). I make healthy food choices counting calories, Protein, fat and carbs. I excercise almost everyday (13 of the 15 days of this month so far). No matter what I do, I cannot lose 1 more stinking pound!! I am frustrated to the verge of tears!!! I have my first fill scheduled for May 24th. Hopefully, that will turn it around for me. Soooooo-- you are not alone!! Hang in there. With patience and persistence we can get through this!! Lynn

    Port Moves ?

Hi Mike, The exact same thing happened to me. My port site has been bothering me for the last several days, and today I noticed that my port has moved to above my incision. I have a fill scheduled on the May 24th, but I think I will call my doc soon. I keep hoping that the pain will go away, but it doesn't look like it. I will let you know what he says . Lynn

    Just got fill yesterday (HELP!!)

I think there is swelling initially, that is why you need the liquids. Hopefully, if you are really good, and go back to liquids, you will be ok in a few days. Hang in there, take something for your heartburn/gas like Phazyme (it always works for me), and most importantly no more Doritos!!!! Lynn
  5. I personally have not told anyone aside from my husband, friend that accompanied me on my surgery trip and my mother in-law that was banded 2 weeks before me. It wasn't because I think being banded is the "easy" way out. As a matter of fact, the pre-op and post-op were some of the hardest diets that I ever been on. Honestly I think that I didn't tell because I do not need the added pressure of being constantly questioned as to how much weight I've lost and because my family would have never supported my decision of having the surgery in Mexico. I guess I could be missing out on the support that I could possibly be getting from friends and family, but I am essentially a private person and feel more comfortable keeping my "business" to myself. I was banded on April 8th, and have been able to explain my odd eating behavior as "just another diet" that I am trying.

    Side pain...looking for input

I have been having the same feeling over the last couple of days..... Now that I read your post, I am thinking it is due to hormones as it is also very close to my TOM. I was banded April 8th of this year, and have never really had any problems except when I did strenous exercise. This is a little different, it is sore/irritated in the general area. It feels like a dull ache. Anyway, I have a fill appointment next week so I will have them check it out. Hope you feel better.
