Hello Everyone! My name is Ruby Hernandez!

I am currently studying to acquire my Bachelor’s Degree with a Major in Information Technology; my concentration is in Software Development. I am also studying to acquire a Minor in Mathematics. Aside from my studies, I love going back to my former high school and encouraging the students to pursue STEM careers!

As for my relation to Bariatric Surgery, I have always been overweight. My obesity has caused me to develop multiple interdependent health issues: ranging from Diabetes to Hidradenitis Suppurativa, to PCOS. I was starting to lose hope in my health, as all of my previous weight loss attempts had failed. Luckily, however, I found an amazing bariatric surgery team that has given me hope in my future; as well as a chance at a new life. After months of hard work, I finally got my insurance's approval for my surgery on May 13, 2019. I would love to receive any helpful tips and personal stories from you all, as I am excited to embark on this new journey in my life.
