  1. So, I started having issues with my teeth in the last few months. I had a scaling done, and everything was looking good. Now the dentist says I need a root canal. I had one scheduled, and they pushed it back to a week before my surgery. I've read differing things saying it's fine, and other things said I should not have the root canal so soon. I'm waiting to hear back from the surgeon, but I thought I would ask on here while I twiddle my thumbs waiting.

    June 2019 sleevers

I'm having mine on June 5th. I got insurance approval back in March, but I had a bunch of things coming up that would have gotten in the way. So, I'm sitting here, anxious as can be. All the insurance hoops you have to jump through are annoying. If I hadn't had to do that, I would have had it last year when I was just under my out of pocket max. It would have cost me 300 bucks total. Oh well, moving forward, just a few more weeks. Good luck everyone.

    Dental Work

It doesn't hurt. It did before. I had a round of antibiotics and it cleared up. I finally talked to my doctor, he said I could have it that close to surgery...but now my dentist has moved me until after my surgery since they had to give up my appointment.

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

Yeah, the cats are pretty useless. I have one who likes to come up and sit right next to me, then look at me and yell at me for 20 minutes.

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

Fantastic! I seem to be the only person who only has to do the diet for a week. Lucky me.

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

I was also looking at compression stockings to help out. But, I think I'm just looking for things to scare myself. I get real nervous before anything big happens...even when I go on vacation. I was a mechanic for several years, and I was always moving. Then I got moved into an office job, and I find myself being less mobile. I think I put on 15 pounds after they moved me. So yeah, movement is very important all around. Good thing I have two dogs who won't let me sit around all day. They'll love all the extra walks.

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

I'm scheduled for June 5th. As the date gets closer, I get more and more nervous. I'm making a list of questions to ask when I go see the surgeon again in 2 weeks. The list is getting longer. I'm not looking forward to the pre diet, but I'm prepared. Got a case of protein shakes and planned out my 1 meal a day that I can have. I think I'm mostly paranoid about forming clots. I don't know why...I've never had an issue with it before, and I plan to move around a lot afterwards. My doctor said that the more movement, the faster the pain goes away. My wife got me a fitbit thing, and I can set an alarm to remind me to get moving again. Sad that I need that. So, between that and the fact that my teeth are suddenly having issues, I've got a lot on my mind. Anyways, good luck to everyone.

    Abnormal EKG

I had an irregular ekg about a year ago. I got really scared and was told to see a cardiologist. Turns out, my lungs were having some issues due to some construction we had in the house, so my oxygen was all screwed up. Anyways, a few weeks later, i had another ekg and it was fine. I guess the point is, it all comes down to what the issue is. It might be something that was just off at the time. I hope it works out for you. I've had to wait 8 months because of insurance requirements, and as the date gets closer, I get more anxious. Having something like that as a set back can stress you out...but you'll be ok.
  9. I'm having my surgery in about 3 weeks. My doctor gave me the low calorie, 2 protein shakes a day, small dinner diet. I have to do it for only a week. I will probably be a cranky jerk for that whole week.
