    Bypass v’s Sleeve..... help!

Hi there, I am very glad that I decided on the bypass as I too have noticed quite a few people ending up having the bypass after the sleeve op. What I will say, though, is that I do still feel hunger but am able to control it more and so I am keeping to what I must do. It has been a sharp learning curve in terms of what kinds of food I can eat at different stages as my body adjusts and the process is ongoing. This is hard work but worth it in the long run. The worst bit has definitely been a bit of the ‘dumping syndrome’ and getting some food stuck at the pouch opening but I now know what to do to avoid these occasions. I am so glad I had bought several books on bariatric Surgery and the bypass as they have been very helpful indeed. This forum is great too but I would love to meet some people here in North Devon in a group setting as well so we can discuss different things. This kind of thing gives reassurance from concerns.

    Anyone from U.K. here?

Hi, Great to hear from you. I have been doing well, though I have had one or two moments here and there! However, I am happy that I had the op and have already lost two stone. Pretty amazing really. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Gosh. That must have been really tough. Hopefully, you will be fine now. I was very fortunate to get the surgery on the NHS. It has been quite a journey but I think it has been worth it. I have already lost two stone but have now stalled. I am told this is normal. Take care, Snezana x

We are in the North West in Black Torrington between Hatherleigh and Holsworthy. Where is your family? I am beginning to think that I am doing the same as yourself. Habits die hard. Did the sleeve not help and are you happy with the RNY? I didn’t realise you could have one op and then the other. Really interesting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How lovely. Nice to speak to you. When did you have your surgery? Mine was five weeks ago so I am on the sixth week and was doing well but this week I have had three times when the food has got stuck. This evening was awful when it happened. I got really worried. Have you ever had that happen to you? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I agree. It’s awful. Perhaps we should have been warned. Xx Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Hand swelling

Hi there, I had a Carpal Tunnel op and all was well until Day 4 when the pain became indescribable. I was checked out and given antibiotics as my hand was terribly swollen and the slightest touch was awful. I may have had an infection but I got so much better after three days. However, others who have had this op say that similar things happened to them and the escalation in pain is normal! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
