  1. Sorry to hear that. The same here with me. The band seems to be so much trouble for all of us. Thanks for answering.
  2. I have fills with Dr. Hazrati at 5734 Yonge Street, (Yonge and Finch area) phone is: 416-222-5501 he charges $120 for fill or de-fill. He was a head Surgeon at Prince Arthur SlimBand Clinic. I got by Band 15 years ago too. It was nice 'chatting' with you I have minimal acid reflux if I de-fill my band but then I gain weight.
  3. Hi Babinni, I am so happy I found another 'bandster' from GTA, also Dr.Yau's patient! Do you have acid reflux or vomiting like I have with band? I have had the band for 15 years, it helped me lose weight and keep it off but I vomit all the time. I damaged my esophagus and I have to have it taken out. One doctor suggests sleeve and another mini GBP.

    Gastric Bypass after Lap Band

hi mimi, please tell me what it is like having a revision from lapband to sleeve? Do you have acid reflux or vomiting like I have with band? I have had the band for 15 years, it helped me lose weight and keep it off but I vomit all the time. I damaged my esophagus and I have to have it taken out. One doctor suggests sleeve and another mini GBP. WHich one is better?
  5. Hi mike54, I have 'choking' from the band at night and a lot of vomiting during the day and night. I had gastroscopy and it proved that my esophagus is all pebly instead of smooth. The Doctor took biopsy and luckily I don't have cancer. He loosened the band and suggested revision surgery. Now it is up to me to decide whether it will be sleeve or mini GBP. Did you have revision and if you did how is it with the reflux now?

  7. Thanks! A lot of people here went to Mexico for surgery. I am a bit scared of that
  8. Thank you so much for answering, NYCGAL000, where does Dr. Illan work?
  9. I just saw my gastric surgeon today and he definitely suggests taking out my Lap Band but revising it to gastric sleeve. I am quite confused, which one should I do, sleeve or mini gastric bypass? Thanks everybody for answering, in advance
  10. one of the reasons is that at a hospital where he works, they don't do bypass since they don't have the thoracic surgeon. One has to be around since bypass is a very risky surgery. That's why I would like to hear what people who experienced it think.
  11. Thanks for the information, NYCPAULA! How is weight loss with the sleeve?
  12. I had Lap Band surgery in 2004. I can't eat fruits and anything else that is not soft. I have severe GERD and acid reflux. I would like to have revision to Mini Gastric Bypass, all that done in Toronto, Canada. What is that like, is it a good choice? What are the possible problems with Mini Gastric Bypass? How do you maintain weight since it is not adjustable?
  13. I had LapBand surgery in 2004. I lost 100 lbs. maintained weight successfully, but I vomit a lot, regurgitate and I have severe acid reflux. If I loosen the band, I don't have the issues, but I gain weight. I have been thinking about revision surgery from LapBand to mini gastric band. I am trying to find out how that would work.
