I have been going through the process for this because of GERD too. I heard from my surgeon today after having a bunch of tests done to figure out just how bad the acid is and what kind of damage it has done. Basically my only 2 options are to stay on Protonix forever or have the bypass surgery. The medication doesn't work all day for me and I don't really want to be on this medicine long term so I'm leaning towards the revision to bypass but it's still scary. I'm waiting for a call for the surgery department to set up a surgery date.
To those of you that have already had the revision surgery, how are you recovering? Did you notice a difference with your acid reflux?
