I’m 4 weeks out and have been eating almost normal food, no bread or other sticky dishes. Ate popcorn yesterday it made me feel a little sick I think I was that movie butter. Went from size 22 to size 12 so far.

My surgery was the 25th. Had my 2 week follow up today and I’m down 17lbs since surgery! I had a little stall for 5 days the first week post -op which was a little discouraging but things have been moving great this past week. I also have been having the most terrible stabbing pain under my left side rib cage which turns out to be a common side effect after the sleeve. It’s something about my spleen not getting enough blood flow yet because the nerves that supply it were cut when they removed a portion of my stomach. Fortunately this will go away over time when the blood supply returns. I’m having difficulty not drinking 30/30 with eating but today I cracked down on myself and set timers!

I was afraid but if you really want something you have to not let the fear take you over. Also my surgeon does like 4 of these a day so that was reassuring. Right after surgery I regretted it because I was in so much pain. 2 weeks out and I’m glad I did it. Even though where they took my stomach out still hurts like a bitch.

I was, I didn’t get any Protein drink. They gave me broth with powder in it, and the smell alone made me so nauseous. It will pass. Ask them for the 3 day patch. It worked very well on me

Good news! I finally got approved after 3 appeals. I have the surgery this Wednesday. Thank you everyone for the support. It was much help when I was a mess trying to get my appeal approved.

It will hurt to drink a lot if you’re like me. The thing is to try different temperatures. Hot and room didn’t go well for me, but really cold helped. It’s also important to not get a lot of air when drinking. Something I’m having a problem with since I am a fast drinker. As time passes and you keep making yourself drink it will get better. Me personally I’m looking forward to eating real food in 6 weeks. I hope you heal fast and drinking won’t hurt you that much. Best of luck

My "I didn't realize" was that I would lose so much of my face. I expected body and skin loose places, after all I had been increasingly obese over the years, but my cute puppy face has become more like an aged bloodhound, and somehow i don't expect a call from Search and Rescue in the the near future to find anyone. I think my skin tone is off, Tomkitten says " Mama, you're still as beautiful as ? ever!" Of course at his last opthamology appointment they did fit him with his first pair of glasses, so maybe I can't trust his assessment? But I'm keeping on, muttering under my breath " It is what it is!" So far only a few assorted children run at the sight of ,,, me and maybe I didn't want to be friends with them anyway! 👶👦👧😝🍀

Ughhhh even though I start the next phase today (yay yogurt!!!) I’m in that darkness where I’m depressed and regret my decision, thinking I’ve screwed myself over for life. Hopefully it passes soon.

Good luck to everyone who has had their surgery or is coming up. I’m on day 4 post op and still in a lot of pain. Drinking is not fun and my big stitched sight is hurting.

Jules morning doctor put me on 5 8 oz Protein Shakes a day plus one meal with no carbs such as bread and Pasta allowed. I get bad Migraines as well but eating my one meal around 3-5 helped.

So I was taken off my iv sometime mid morning the day after my surgery since I'm drinking well and urinating. I was also discharged and home less than 24hrs after surgery. I'm tired and tender but most of my pain I think is gas related so I'm just drinking my Water and trying to move around as much as possible. No flatulence or BM yet, just burps. It's really nice to see my little one. Missed him so much.

Luckily I’m urinating fine. Haven’t had a BM yet tho. The gas still hurts. I had a hynial hernia repair with my sleeve and drinking Water is super painful. They weirdly took me off my iv earlier today. Which I thought was strange since I can’t even finish a 16 oz of water.

Hi, I’m getting my sleeve tomorrow and just any advice post op would be wonderful. I’m very interested in healing time, how soon you can start to workout again and how much weight everyone lost in the first 30,60,90..... days. I go back to school in 30 days and not sure if I should be expecting to buy new clothes.

I had a bypass and I know that's different, but my procedure was April 1, and I didn't experience a BM until April 3rd. Gas preceded it by about 12 hours, then led it in, lol.
