  1. Elevatormusic

    starting again

Yep - starting again post pregnancy. I'm at 2.8ml too. I was at 3ml but it was too tight this time around. It's a bit 'not this again' for me - maintained a stable, normal weight for years and I have reflux issues now so the 'sweet spot' is a lot harder to get right without aggregating the acid burn at night. I'm older now so it seems weight doesn't budge as easily as before 😑
  2. Hi all, I recently got my band refilled 5 months post birth - I'm at about 3.3ccs - definitely not too tight and no stuck or vomiting episodes. I follow the post fill guidelines meticulously. I had a recent barium swallow - no pouch, placement is good - basically no issues. And yet, middle-of-the-night reflux episodes. The band isn't even tight enough for it to be doing its job. Has anyone else experienced this? What could be the issue?
  3. It's reflux as a result of either one or all of the following: 1) your band is too tight and/or you ate too much too soon after your fill. I go on mush or liquid only for 24 hours post fill. 2) you've developed a pouch. 3) you've developed oesophageal dilation. The liquid that's coming back up is your stomach acid - this is irritating and leads to coughing bouts, spluttering and choking. Sleep propped up on a pillow on your left side (sleeping on your left reduces reflux). Medication: Nexium, Somac or zantac may help. The latter two can be obtained in pharmacy without a prescription. Your surgeons office may request a barium swallow.
