  1. I was able to edit it and get it posted upright... down 43lbs and 41inches since surgery 2months 2wks ago. I have measurements from 2012 and I weigh 220 then and I weigh 218 now and the bust and waist are smaller yay! lol So I havent been this weight in basically 6yrs. It's crazy to think about.
  2. New measurements down another 14inches. Yay! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

  5. I'm 2months and 1 wk out. I'm down 42lbs weighting 219 only 20 more lbs til I'm in the 100s can't wait. I have sized down to a med/Large in my pajama pants lol! My other ones were size 2x-3x and they were falling off of me. My husband actually told me your pants look too big for you. I'm down to L/XL in shirts now and can wear form fitting shirts. I was 2x-3x and made sure all my shirts were loose because I was embarrassed of my rolls. Pants I started at a snug 18 and now I'm in a 14/15 and they are getting loose. Its exciting, but at the same time I see myself in the mirror and I feel I look the same as before surgery. I am getting hit on a lot more when I got to random places. Its odd and awkward lol. I am hoping to lose 20lbs by Jan when I go back home to see my family. I want to me in the 100s. I haven't been working out this past month. I got sick then my husband went out of state for work and I had the kids alone and no child care at the gym. I plan on going back Monday!!
  6. This is the July Surgery Thread. We've all had our surgeries done in July 2019. Here is the roll call for November! I attached the link. Good Luck on your journey! 😊
  7. I would do as your doc says. When I was in that huge stall upping my carbs seemed to do the trick to get me out of it. I read upping carbs would help so that's why I tried it. I've lost 42lbs and I think I had my surgery a week after you. My doc told me I can have up to 1000 calories a day (I usually barely break 800) and I could have 15-20carbs per meal so about 75-100 carbs a day. I probably get in like 50carbs at the most but its better then the 8-10carbs a day I was getting and being dizzy and lethargic all the time. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I would honestly talk to them and tell them how you feel so that way they know how their judgment hurts you. If they are so religious then they should stop being so self righteous and judgmental and calling your sins out while they are sinning. We will never be perfect so they shouldn't expect you to be. After you talk with them you shouldn't pull away from them, but limit what you tell them. I'm like that with my sister. I love her she's my sister and we have a great relationship, but we had a falling out once and she used everything I told her as ammo on me. Right then and there I knew I couldn't trust her. So I never tell her my problems anymore or anything I couldn't tell a normal friend. I do have a bestfriend that I can vent to or my hubby. So those are the only people I talk to about my problems. I always find its better when you keep your family out of your problems and relationships. They never forget or forgive like you would so it just creates more problems. Its sad when you can't talk to your family, but sometimes its for the best if you don't want drama in your life. Hugs! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I ended up telling him the next day to talk all the crap he wants and to say all the fat jokes he wants. In the end Ill still lose the weight and I'll still look damn good so he can shove it. He had no response lol! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. So I've had my first bad experience on someone throwing the surgery in my face. A guy I knew got mad at me because he broke up our group of friends and tried blaming me and everyone else. Which it was him and his attitude is why people didnt want to be friends with him anymore. He started attacking my weight and told me if I stopped eating cake and just exercised I wouldn't need the surgery and to take accountability for my actions. It was kinda hurtful when someone uses something you confided in them with and then they try to use it as an insult. I didn't tell many people for this exact reason, but he went around and told everyone and even people that are acquaintances. I know stuff about him that would embarrass him, but I didn't stoop to that level because what's the point. The good thing is the people who now know are supportive and think he's a total ****** for the things he said. He just made himself look bad and pushed more people away. Ugh why do some people just suck! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

    one year surgerversary

Wowwwwwwweeeewow! Amazing transformation! You give me hope because some days I feel like I'm never going to lose enough. Thanks for sharing! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. I think you're on track. I'm 8wks out also and have lost 37lbs. I stalled for 3 1/2wks too it was horrid! For the first 3months most sites say you'll typically lose from 30-40lbs. So you're ahead of the prediction! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Gallstones

Yep, it felt like I was being stabbed in the upper right of my stomach near my ribs. The recovery was super easy and its done laparoscopically no need to worry. You'll be ok. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Tricare anyone?

I have Tricare, but my situation was a little different because the Army Base here in San Antonio, Tx has a bariatric clinic. So I wasn't required to do any dieting for any amount of months. I started my journey as in dietitian classes, blood work ups, upper gi, psychiatric evaluation, sleep apnea evaluation in April and had my surgery in July. I got it so quickly because the military clinic's don't have to jump through as many hoops as if you go through a civilian provider. But being at a 40 BMI you don't need any comorbidities. I was a 40 BMI and my comorbidities were PCOS and sleep apnea. I'm sure you'll get approved just because of your BMI. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Do you put a whole protein scoop full? Into like your yogurts and food? I have unflavored protein, but the scoop is huge so i havent been using it. I normally get my daily amounts of protein though, but if i could get in even more i wouldn't be opposed to that. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

  17. So prior to the surgery I started out at 261lbs right now I'm 226 which is 35lbs down. I was wearing a super snug size 18 before surgery. I probably needed a size 20, but i refused to buy more pants. So my size 15 pants last fit me when I was 235 and they were uncomfortably tight. I was like to myself "hey those ripped up jeans I fit into them at 235 and I'm 226 now I should be able to wear them!" So I try them on and omgee the fit and they aren't tight at all! They fit perfect. So i went even further back into my closet and found some size 14's and they fit too! They are snug as you can see the belly rolls lol, but ill take it! lol I haven't been able to fit into them for the past 7yrs. So I'm about a size 14/15 right now which is super exciting for me. When I look at myself I don't see much change even though I have lost 35lbs and 27inches all over. I have 100lbs to lose stuck in my head so it makes me feel like I've lost nothing in comparison. But i gotta stop thinking that way and be happy for the smaller victories that lead up to the big one! [emoji158] Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. 1/4 cup is 2oz, and 1/2 cup is 4oz. By 3wks I could eat 3.5oz. Your 1.6lb gain could just be water weight. If you're gonna weigh yourself you should do it consistently at the same time and preferably in the morning after you've gotten up and emptied your bladder. Also, if you haven't pooped that will be a good lb or so added lol. I normally fluctuate 1-3lbs during the day. Depends on my water weight, food, bladder, and pooping! I wouldn't worry about your 1lb gain. Now if it was like 5lbs then I would be curious!

    Cravings? HELP

Find Bariatric friendly pizza. The cauliflower pizza was disgusting lol I threw it away. But I found pizza that is actually good. Realgood Pizza Co. is gluten free and only has 4 carbs 25g of protein. You can find it at most major stores. When my family gets pizza for dinner which is maybe once every 2 weeks I'll pop this into the oven and enjoy eating my pizza while they eat theirs. I don't feel left out or like I'm doing anything bad. Find healthy alternatives to what you normally like so you don't feel so deprived. Of course some things we loved won't have a healthy alt like soda for example so you gotta say goodbye and leave it at that. If you're dying for chips try to find a kettle chip they have way less calories, carbs, and sugar, but don't make them a habit or try them if it will be a slippery slop for you. A burger you can have, but the healthy way with no bun and limit your portion.

    The WORST Loser

Yes as everyone said... track your food. Eat the amount you're suppose to even if you don't feel overly full. If you don't eat enough you won't lose and if you eat too much you won't lose. So tracking is very important!!

    LADIES ONLY PLEASE!

Im almost 7wks and I have PCOS so I normally don't have periods every month. They typically come every 4 months. I don't remember the last time I had one, but normally when I do get it they are heavy and I have lots of clots because I haven't shed my lining in so long. I started this past week and its super wonky. Somedays ill spot red then spot brown then tiny red clot then brown only when i wipe then red again and super light were I dont need a pad then tiny bit more were panty liner will do. I'm like what in the heckkk is going on am I gonna start fully or notttt! lol Its super annoying. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. I've lost 31lbs so far and my narrow shoes fit better so I can tell I've lost in my feet lol. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. I finally figured out why I had the salty and sweet craving. It clicked last night it's because I started my period lol! I have PCOS so my periods are normally 4 months+ apart and I don't keep track of them since its so far apart. So it didn't click right away why I was craving all the bad stuff I was seeing.
