  1. I agree 100% with the other comment. I haven't gone to my pcp after surgery because I'm only 5 weeks out. They recommend labs in 7 to 8 months. I do t anticipate an issue. People have negative impressions of Mexico. When they don't even have the whole story. Dr Ariel Ortiz at OCC is wonderful. Can't say anything negative about the facility. I've heard good things about your Dr as well. My husband became more supportive after I explained the health aspects . Less knee pain, feeling better. Improved cholesterol, more energy. If u have blood pressure or diabetes it will improve.

  2. Never us did I feel worried. Relatively very safe procedure. I went to DR ARIEL ORTIZ at OCC. Top notch. I did a lot of research as an R.N. the facility is JCI accredited which is very important when choosing a facility I was sleeved May 21st. Absolutely no issues

  3. My surgery was on May 7 and I feel so good now! I'm back to work this week (took 2 weeks off) and I was tired the first few days. Luckily I'm able to work from home some of the time, so I worked from home and took lunch time naps. At my two week checkup my surgeon told me to get some B12 and I don't need to nap as much now.
    Sip sip sip!
So glad you're doing well. My sleeve was May 21st. Getting in my hydration and started on Protein Shakes today. Feeling fuller quicker than with Clear Liquids. Still gassy as well. But all is good. Good luck

  4. My program requires a 2 week liquid diet before the surgery. The reasons are to shrink the liver a bit before surgery, to get you into ketosis before the surgery, and to get you in the right mindset heading in to surgery. I don't have a strict number of shakes to have each day, just between 4-6 as I'd like. I've been preparing myself by having 1-2 shakes a day so far, so it won't seem so jarring to switch to the liquid diet. I still think I'll be a bit cranky though [emoji12]
On my 2 wk liquid diet, I'm allowed 4 to 6 cups of green leafy vegetables plus 3 to 4 Protein Shakes. I chose Jay Robb as it is low in carbs and sugar and no artificial ingredients I can also have sugar free popsicles and Jello. I m on my 2nd day and doing well

  5. I had to do the 6 months of weigh ins before surgery, and was told not to lose anything. I just squeaked under the 35 BMI cut-off with co-morbidities. My weight fluctuated between 188-192 during the weigh-ins, then I lost a couple of pounds during the 3 day pre-op diet so it was 187 the morning of surgery.
Thx for the info. Good luck in your journey

  6. I did a lot of research on lots of docs. I'm an R.N. a most important aspect is the experience of the surgeon. Also, I wanted to be in a center or hospital that is JCI accredited. That means that that center achieved high standards of care. I am being evaluated by OCC and Dr Ariel Ortiz at OCC. For a sleeve. Dr Corvala at Angeles hospital is very good as well. Good luck
