  3. Have an appt with a Bariatric Dietitian and she is coming to the house. Hopefully she can help me out with what I am doing wrong in that I haven't lost anything in 4 weeks and I am only 10 weeks post op.

Yes I thought that not waiting a 1/2 hour or longer wasn't right so I will not listen to that bit of advise. However everything else seems to make sense according to what a lot of the people on this site were saying to me when I posted about the 41 grams of protein that the surgeon told me to eat and to stop the shakes. So now that I have the info from a Bariatric dietitian her info is what I am listening to except the drinking part.

Wow what a 2 hour eye opening experience Susan Peacock provided to me. My surgeon should have this dietitian on his staff. My Dr was saying I should have 41 grams of food protein only and no more liquid protein. He told me not to drink for 1/2 hour before and after and of course during a meal. He gave me no guide lines as to how many calories a day I should have nor the specific types of protein I should be eating. Susan said 100 to 125 grams of protein and to shoot for 500 calories a day. To have at least 1 or 2 protein liquids during the day and to stay away from the process stuff I was eating as the salt was way to high.. She told me fruits and some carbs were ok to have after the protein. I shouldn't drink 1/2 before meals but drinking after a meal was fine. I have about 2 weeks and 2 days before my 3rd month follow up. Hopefully these changes will make a difference in my weight loss and get me out of this stall. Susan even thinking of joining this site and getting in contact with the founder Alex Brecker. I think that is fantastic. So glad I called her.

  5. My BMI is finally under 50!! And while, I don't necessarily use the BMI chart as my guide, but losing over 20 points is a reason to celebrate! Happy Sunday!

  6. How the F*** can you gain 3 pounds when eating under 700 calories a day? I sure as heck don't know but I am getting more discouraged as each days passes. I was off the scale for a week and gained 3 pounds. Am so pissed and beginning to regret what the heck I did to my body.

Herniated and bulging disc, spinal stenosis, ridicular neuropathy, half of a right hip bone, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Ulna nerve damage a frozen left shoulder and the inability to walk for more than 5 minutes without 2 canes or a walker without extreme pain in my back. Is all that considered an illness that should cause my Dr to limit my protein? I don't think so, but he insists that I not eat more than 41 grams of protein a day. Today I emailed a Bariatric dietitian who works for another Dr and asked her if she would see me so I can discuss with her the fact that my Dr only wants me to eat 41 grams. I hope I will hear back from her.

Because my Surgeon insist that I eat only 41 grams of protein which comes out to about 700 or less calories

  9. lost nothing again today 2 weeks now without losing and only 8 week post op in my second stall. Very frustrated.

  10. I had my 9month post op appt yesterday and the doctor was pleased with my progress and asked me what my secret is, since I'm "doing better than most at 9 months". I'm assuming that's based on his practice, because from what I've seen here, it's pretty normal to lose 100+ in 9 months when you start at 400+ pounds.

  11. Had surgery 4 weeks ago today at 314 pounds. Today I am down to 293. Is that a good weight loss for the first month., seeing as how I had lost 183 pounds before surgery?

I know overall it is good. However the first 20 were within 10 days of surgery. I have been in a stall since Feb 9th and only lost 1 pound since then. So I am concerned it maybe wasn't enough for the first month for someone of my size. Thanks all for the reassurance that I am on track. I know this stall has to break soon. I see the surgeon again on Friday I hope a few more pounds will come off by then.

  14. 24 days after surgery I am back on the trike. Did a very short 0.64 mile, slow 10 minutes, easy ride. Have begun training for my bike challenge in 2017. Put a picture of me on my bike in my profile.

  15. Where the heck are the instructions for the ticker sig? I know I've seen them somewhere.

  16. Home from the hospital. Water, water, water!

My platonic roommate was so sweet he gave me mini roses in a lady bug container. I thought that was so thoughtful as in years past he gave me candy. I hope you all got a non food gift for this special day.

  18. Yay! Shoulder surgery was done today and went better than expected. My an joint was very severe bone on bone, my shoulder was severely separated but they did not have to fix the rotator cuff! This means a much faster recovery and I am thrilled. No pain at the moment because they put a nerve block in. That will wear off late tonight and I am hoping pain is minimal. I slept for several hours early this evening and am doing well. Thanks for all the well wishes today everyone! You are all so very sweet.

Glad to hear the meds are helping and you got a new nights sleep. Are the exercising being done at home or with PT help? How long did hey say it would be before your back to normal and able to use that arm again.? I can't get my left hand behind my back and it is very frustrating at times. They will not do surgery on it or my back until I am below 250. What weight were you when you had this done?
