Heartfelt condolences in the loss of your child. I am truly sorry for you.

I lost my middle sister in the beginning of my Wls journey. Lost my mom 11 months ago.

I think that you are smart to postpone your surgery and allow yourself time to grieve. We are all here to listen when you need us. Wish there was more that I could do for you.

(((Hugs))) thoughts and prayers your way.

Wow. I am really surprised that they did t do surgery right away.

I had my gallbladder out more than 20 years ago. However I was in much of the same shape that you were in as far as being extremely sick before it was removed.

I felt SO much better after it was out. The surgery itself was very easy for Me. I was in pretty good shape back then too.

I just can’t believe that they are waiting to remove yours since you are so sick and not able to eat or drink. If it gets any worse before Friday go back to the ER I bet that they will go ahead and do the surgery.

good luck and hang in there!

I too have horrible arthritis in my knees. The only think that can be used is a topical ointment. I have to think on the name.
i think it is called voltaren. Do yourself a favor and try some turmeric! It must contain at least 10 mg of bioperine and 95% curcuminoids. You will be amazed at how well a simple spice works for inflammation. I literally went from not being able to walk without severe pain to no pain at all. My sister had surgery for torn miniscus and it works well for her too.

Hi,@Lily66. I need to update my stats on the computer because I can't do it on the phone app! It's like 85 pounds since surgery, and 102 since my highest weight!!
Yes. My knee pain is 90 percent better with the weight loss. Now my issue is my neck!!

Hmmm did the levothyroxine cause fatigue and brain fog? I have a bad case of both. My numbers are staying in range but it is still ridiculously hard for me to lose weight. I have to keep calories much lower than most to lose.

I was thinking the same about Mrs ss. I normally have to stay at 1200 calories and under to maintain and not gain. Barely able to keep losing at 600 calories per day.

Currently I'm on day 2 of IF doing a lot better. I live with A LOT OF PEOPLE. 12 to be exact so getting rid of "bingable" foods is not really an option. I'm looking into finding a good nutritionist in my area. The main thing is to get right back on track.

Hi all. Josh is the name. First post. I have surgery scheduled on Feb 26th. I'm excited.
My wife has been against it for months when I first brought it up. Claims WLS is a money making scam and thinks that being a nurse makes her an expert. I let her know my plans as soon as i got a surgery date. About 5 weeks beforehand. I did kind of drop the news on her but I knew she would never let me get as far into the process as I have. Shes very unsupportive and is even threatening divorce if i go thru with it. I'd like to mention that i just found out shes pregnant so i think she may try stabbing me in my sleep.

I sure hope you have a good day!! We must remember to be kind to ourselves. We all deserve it and are worthy. I am saying this as much for myself today after having my own pity party.

I just got home from seeing the ortho doc about my shoulder. I have what is called frozen shoulder and he explained that the likely cause was my autoimmune issues. It seems my immune system got tired of attacking just my thyroid and is now focused on my left shoulder too. Bummer. He said it may take up to two years to fully resolve itself and could spread to my right shoulder also... Just great....
Ok, pity party over. The bright side is most cases resolve without surgery and I just need to do some specific exercises daily to help it along. If the pain is ever too intense I can opt for a ultra sound guided cortisone shot. I skipped the shot for now and will just focus on learning the exercises and praying my right shoulder is spared.

@chayarg, that IS a low calorie day. I think though when you are fasting, its a given that you won't reach Protein goals? I'm thinking of doing a fast too to detox myself from all the crap I have been eating, and maybe lift me out of this bum mood I am in. Out of curiosity, what is the longest fast you have done?
@Apple1 & @Losingit2018 : I had to google Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and educate myself on this (I have heard it mentioned on "House", but never really understood what it entailed). Now that I know, I feel for you guys for having to deal with this...and at the same time really impressed that you guys keep on truckin' with the weight loss efforts despite things working against you ❤️. I feel kinda bad now for being sucky about myself 💔.

I am very lucky in this regard, and I know it (sometimes I forget, but most of time I am very grateful).
I normally do exercise* quite a bit (min 5km run daily + 15 mins strength training daily + dance classes/zumba/hot yoga/rock climbing), so this helps alot with increasing the amount of calories I can consume to maintain.
**...but because of my plastics recovery, I have been MIA on the exercise front for almost 7 weeks. I can feel the physical and emotional effects of the lack of exercise and I'm struggling with it at the moment. My 14-day moving average weight graph is inching upward and it is annoying me. So i really need to reduce my calories to make up for the lack of activity, but I'm in a sucky mood.
Edited to add (After reading a bunch of posts and realizing it's up to me to make myself feel better, dammit): EFF IT!!! I'M GOING OUT FOR A WALK AND NOT COMING BACK FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR EVEN THOUGH I DON'T WANT TO AND AM REALLY MAD ABOUT HAVING TO DO IT. ...AND EVEN MADDER THAT I DON'T WANT TO DO IT.

Fatigue and brain fog were my normal until I started on armour. Even being at the high end of the normal range or just above it, I feel so much better and more normal since starting the armour.

    * Bursts In: Am I late? No, Good *
I converted from VSG to RNY at my goal weight. Initially i lost a about 10lbs easily but worked (ate 😂) to get back to my normal goal.
It is possible to maintain if you are diligent. If i eat weight loss mode - I lose, if I indulge just a little every now and again- I maintain, if i go overboard - I gain.
As always talk to your Surgeon and come up with a realistic plan 💚
Oh BTW , GERD is gone 🙌

Losingit2018 reacted to Carat711 in To revise or not to revise...that is my question
So, 13 years ago, I weighed 350 pounds. I made a commitment to change, and lost 100 pounds through dieting. After that, in Sept. 2013, I had a sleeve procedure and hernia fix (without complications) and went from 250 down to 155 (my lowest) in 2016. That's when the problems began. I have been suffering with terrible on and off gastritis, constant GERD and reflux, stomach ulcers, and my hiatal hernia needs repair again. I have had two recent endoscopies, including one with a Bravo probe, and the surgeon claims the only way to permanently fix the problem to to revise from a sleeve to RNY.
The problem is, I do NOT want full on bypass. I am terrified. I like my life as it is, and I can't imagine going through the surgical recovery process again. I am remarried now, and have a ten year old daughter, and I can't imagine what our family meals/vacations/birthday parties are going to look like post-RNY. I am at the point with my sleeve that I have reincoporated most foods, and eat relatively normally.
All of this decision making stress has made me go off the rails with my eating plan, and I have regained almost all the weight I lost (back up to 230 pounds), partially because I have been eating everything in sight, preparing for the moment after which I will "never be able to eat normally" again. I approach every meal with a "last supper" mentality. I enjoy food and beer and traveling, and I don't want to constantly be the odd man out at functions.
I am tempted to have the revision for purely vanity reasons - a quick weight loss fix for what I've regained. Nothing I am currently suffering is imminently dangerous, nor is it constant - I have excruciating flare ups. My surgeon will not fix my hernia without doing the whole conversion, because he claims it's "useless" to fix one without doing the other.
So, here's what I ask everyone...to anyone who's had the revision...is it worth it? I'm tempted to just keep taking my double dose nexium and drinking my Gaviscon, and enjoying my life as normal. I have a husband who loves and accepts me, and I don't want to do this and risk my life for a surgery simply for appearance's sake. If I can live with my current pain, can't I ride this out with my little sleeve which worked so well until depression made me abuse it? Do I just get back on track, or go under the knife? I have never been so torn. Please help!!!

    Thank you for listening
