I am going on "self-pay". I am just trying to maintain a below 45 BMI. I am at 43 now. I am going to do the LSD diet 2 weeks prior and expect to loose some on that.

OMG! I am so feeling for you. I don't understand why insurance wouldn't pay if your weight is higher? Do you have to be in a certain weight range for Insurance to kick in? Kerry

I think it sounds like it is a good thing to follow, so I will begin 2 weeks prior to the 17th of June and try to follow as closely as possible. Kerry:thumbup: I don't want to be the "French Fry Lady" either. That would be devestating!

I have not had my surgery date yet, not until June 17,08. It depends on where you are having your surgery done. I am going to Mexico because my insurance won't pay and it is more than half of the expence. My Dr. requires that if you have a body Max index number of 45 or above, you need to go on a "Liver Shrinking Diet". In the USA I think they are more strict with pre opt diets. The liver shrinking diet is High protein and low carbs,

Hi, I am having surgery on June 17th, and I have chosen not to tell anybody but my husband and the 2 girlfriends I have chosen to travel with me to Mexico for the procedure. I know once I return, both they and my husband will be my support. Do you think I am wrong for not telling people? Kerry

I do have a fill dr that is going to see me in Portland Oregon, but that is 100 miles, as is Bend, so I am o.k. there, I am just a bit nervous of who will care for me if I have an emergency situation. I guess my family Dr. will let me know on Monday. Kerry

I have an appointment with my family Dr. on Monday the 19th. She doesn't know of this decision yet, and I'm struggeling with how to brake it to her. I came to the decission after a co worker traveled to Mexico last summer with her sister to have th surgery. And, the cost was a factor. $7,500.00 vs possible $30 in the states. I am going to the same Dr. as my friends(Dr. Pedro Kuri) and I have read, read, read everything about him. I don't have any regrets with my decission, but the waiting until June 17 is KILLING me! I bought every flavor of the UNJURY which my Dr. said was reccomended as the best tasting, although I haven't tried it yet. It comes in big cans with 17 servings each.
