  1. I just wanted to check in and see how all of the May 2019 people are progressing. Personally, it has been a couple of weeks of ups and downs. I am struggling to stay consistent with my eating patterns. Some days I feel famished, other days I do not have a taste for anything. My main goal moving forward is to maintain an actual exercise scheduled. What about you all?
I am the same way. Some foods make me feel sick but most do not. I am down 30lbs. I feel great. Exercising has been a challenge since my kids are demanding. Lol

  2. Did you have bypass or sleeve? I would guess bypass, because sleevers are usually the left side, that's where they pull across your intestines the 3/4 of your natural stomach they are discarding. Right side is either liver retractor or the larger gauge surgical equipment like staplers. But none of mine ever hurt and they remove the vast amount of Carbon dioxide before you leave their OR so you don't have that to work out of your system. I was blessed can't tell me different!
I had sleeve and my pain was on the right, not the left

  3. 3 more days for me! I am having VSG on May 23 and the liquid diet is no fun at all. I am hoping my hunger subsides after I wake up from surgery. I am very nervous and excited. I have lost 6 lbs from the liquid diet. My weight today is 267 lbs and I am 5'7''. How much did people lose in the first month????

  4. Has anyone else experienced a change in their voice post surgery? I also had a hiatal hernia repair (stomach pushing into diaphragm), but the day after surgery my voice was a little raspy and quiet like a cold, and a week later it is still the same.
I did for a few days. I also had a sore throat. I believe it is from the intubation tube used during the surgery. They told me to gargle with warm Water and salt.

  5. Yep thatโ€™s exactly how it was with me. That was my first question I asked him. That one just kept giving me problems. Felt like I pulled a muscle or strained something. A weird painful feeling.
That is exactly how it feels. I haven't had to use the pain meds since I came home the day after the surgery. Today I have taken two so far. Ugh

  6. I had that issue as well. Had my bypass May 6th and went to my first week post op yesterday and my surgeon said he had to go deeper down in my muscle. I used a ice pack and made sure to take my oxy and Tylenol... Iโ€™m doing just fine now. The ice pack really helped me.
Thank you...I will give it a try. It is so odd bc it is the only one that hurts.

  7. lift yourself from sitting or lying down position using an arm chair or end of a table. You are still raw inside, it probably just got strained. Take it easy.

Thank you! I have been trying to be very careful with that. I guess sometimes we just forget... especially if we start feeling better.

  8. Hi everyone! I am exactly one week post-op as of today. Was wondering if anyone has had pain in the incision where they removed your stomach? I have been fine every day since the surgery. Today that spot in particular hurts just as much as it did the day I had the surgery. Any idea or thoughts why it would act up after 7 days?

  9. I had VSG on 5/7/19. So I am almost one week post op. All I had heard before I decided to get the surgery and all the way up to my surgery date was how you will never be hungry. Idk what these people are talking about because I have been hungry since I woke up from surgery! It has definitely been rough the past week. Anyone else have this struggle? [emoji20]
Had my surgery on 5/8/19. I have been hungry as well since the day after I got home. It isn't helping either that the Isopure is gross. Lol
