You can do it! Take one day at a time. This was a big ordeal (having the operation). We are still sending hunger pains, so it's o ly human that we want more solids.Only 2 more days of shakes (hallelujah!!), then one day of clear fluids... woohoo! Had a couple of moments last night of "OMG, what am I doing?" but this morning I am more committed than ever.
On a slightly downer note, I somehow managed to injure my hip/leg yesterday. I have no idea what I did, just that it hurts like mad every time I try to move from sitting to standing and vice versa. I'm trying to work myself up to my usual walking workout but it may not happen today.

I had mine done on Monday May 13th as well. I had to stay another night as I was very nauseous n couldn't drink my liquids. I was determined to get home yesterday, where I knew that I would be able to recover. I immediately was home n had the first BM n then took a 2 hour nap.

On 5/4/2019 at 4:40 PM, giddygiddygiddy said:I won't be getting anything except ice chips and Water swabs the day of my surgery, nothing actually to drink. Post-op day 1 they want me to consume 1oz every 15 minutes during the day of a clear liquid where at least 1 oz each hour should be something other than water--suggesting broth, SF juice or powdered drinks, SF Gelatin, and SF popsicles. The second day is when I can start full liquids, to include baby foods, certain Soups, and yogurt and pudding. I'll also be doing shakes. Full liquids will be easy enough, I'm more worried about the Clear Liquids while at the hospital and finding aspratame-free options there.
I doubt that these hospitals will have other natural sweeteners on hand. Don't worry about it, as it's only a day or 2. If you don't want to eat the jellos or pops, just decline.

Make sure to bring Protein Drinks to work. This way you are getting your ounces of fluids in and your Protein. Bring an insulated lunch bag and throw in some veggies and yogurts, hummus, etc. You got this! Where there is a will, there is a way!

Bravo! You look amazing!Wanted to share some 8 month progress pics. I am a former college football player turned desk jobber that really lost my way. I decided to be sleeved after going to doc and BP was scary high. Father had heart attack in early 40’s and I was on track to beat him. Wanted to be around for my kids. Started at 6’2, 360lbs. Initial goal weight of 200lb Currently at 220, but really beginning to like what I see in the mirror. Fell in love with the gym. I know I’m in the honeymoon period (8 months in) but this has really given me a new lease on life.

Congrats on your new you! U look great! In 2 days it’ll be one year since my sleeve. This morning I was a few ounces below 200. It was a great feeling, I have not weighed that since I was 18.
This past year was full of changes and looking back I just wanted to say thank you to all of you on here who post and/or reply. This site has been a great tool full of information as well as a place where people relate to what I am going through and I them. I’ve read some inspirational posts as well as those of heartache and funny ones as well. I will continue my journey, taking what I have learned from here and keep moving forward.
A big thank you again to the BariatricPal family, you all rock.

U look wonderful. So happy for you.I would love to see great stories on how you feel today after years from your surgery! My name is Char and I had my surgery 2015, I started at 230 lbs and I am currently around 160-170lbs. I can say that I feel so great with how my health improved, my self confidence, my love to myself and the people who surrounds me with positive outlook in my journey. Sure, there are frustrations in my journey but it is all part of the process! Being where I am today made me a better and stronger person... I don’t think I could have not done it if it wasn’t for my children!
