  1. He sounds so sweet! You might think about reminding him that you need to exercise to help your recovery. You could tell your Mom that you and your husband need to figure out your "new normal" on your own, and reassure her that your husband is taking good care of you. (And you'd love to see her after you've healed so that you can do more things together.)
Thanks. Will try that. Fingers crossed.

  2. So at the beginning of this whole journey the only person who has always been behind me is my husband. No he is acting like I can not do anything, cook, wash clothes, wash dishes. If I try to walk to long in his eyes he is telling me to lay down. Of that's not enough now I have my mother who questioned the way, made little remarks about my weight now wanting to come take care of me. Not only does she want to come stay with me she wants to bring my two youngest nicece too. Which are 3 and 5. It's not some vacation from work for a family get together, I'm recovering over here.

Just find it funny now that I am accomplishing what I set out to do now everyone is all of a sudden on mine and husband side.

  3. So I had the sleeve done a week ago and I have been struggling to drink the Protein waters my surgeon prescribed. I’m supposed to have 2x 450ml bottles a day which will give me 60g Protein.< br> Has anyone else had this issue?
I do have trouble, had my sleeve done on 3/20. Yesterday I started making in protein and it worked. I start my day with a 16 oz Water and I freeze the protein in ice trays that equal up to 80 grams. I eat the and ice all day long. It worked but today is just the second day I'm doing it. Hope that helps

  4. Ok, sorry this will be a little long...I began this journey back in January of 2016. Started the process and completed my required (by insurance) 6 month weightloss plan and then went for my pre-op physicals. During this process (1 week before my scheduled surgery) my surgeon found that i was anemic and was concerned.(HE SAVED MY LIFE RIGHT HERE...THE FIRST TIME) He pulled some strings and got me in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy the day before my scheduled surgery date because, as he said, "I need to know what i'm dealing with when i go in there." During the colonoscopy they found that I had stage 3 colon cancer. My surgery the next day went from a GSV to a colonectomy. He also took out my gall bladder (as the preop tests found I had gall-stones) and took out my appendix. So, 3 months of open wound treatment (because of an infection at the surgery site), and 6 months of chemotherapy later, i was able to take a deep breath. I had lost 30 pounds during all of this, but then sadly watched as the scale crept back up to my previous weight. So, in August of last year I decided I was ready to continue down the road toward the GSV surgery. Unfortunately, my employer switched insurance companies so my approval had to start back at square one. I have now completed the 6-month weight loss program...again, and have a surgery date of April 25th. (I could have had it sooner, but i needed that week to fit in my life). I am ready to get this surgery done and get healthy because my co-morbites are out of control. So now, my surgeon will get to take credit for saving my life 2 TIMES!!!! Thank you, Dr. Hipp!
    Good luck. You deserve it!!

  5. I started this journey back on January 8th when I had my first surgeon appointment. I weighed 360. Today at 11 days post op I weigh 332. I know a lot is Water weight, but it's still exciting to see the loss happening. [emoji4]

You are doing great. Also don't down play your hard work by saying you still weigh alot. Remember always look at what you have accomplished so far. The fact that it's just 11 days post op, I want to be like you. I'm only 3 days post op and feel all the pain still.
