    Water goals

Also Jellos and Popsicles count as liquid.. broth as well... I used to drink diet soda. My doctor didn't prohibit it as long as I drank my minimum amount of water, so pretty much I don't have time for diet sodas anymore.

    Tomorrow is surgery day!!

Yes, it's worth it. You are worth it! Congratulations and good luck!
  3. I started mine 5 days early. I really had a tough time ummm, not eating anything after the surgery! Do it slow if you're going to do it, and in little amounts and watch how your body react.

To tell or not to tell

I only told a few of my friends and family. I planned on telling them on FB once I hit my 50 pound loss mark. I just didn't want to get judged, or hear negative comments. I had to concentrate on me, my weight loss journey, my health. Now that my 50 pounds is approaching, I'm changing my mind. I'll probably delay it another 20 pounds.

    Constipation

I eat yogurt daily and it regulates my bowel movement. If I'm feeling constipated, I double my daily yogurt intake. I remembered I was constipated on the first week though. The doctor advised me to buy Dulcolax. It does get better though.

    Am I Doing This Right?

Hi Sher, Congratulations friend! This is going to be an exciting journey for you. Yes, lots of learning and identifying what your stomach is telling you. My first month was trial and error pretty much for me. I threw up about 5x on my first month, I still do 😞 but not as much anymore. I learned to eat slower... very slowly. Sip. Sip. Sip in small quatities. Try hot broth, I add ginger and garlic to mine for extra flavor.

    Pounds lost

My daughter came to visit this Easter weekend. We went to a Mexican Restaurant, Ordered Domino's Pizza, had Pork Bulgogi with rice, cooked some Filipino foods and had 2 MIchelob Ultra....Wow! I lost a pound from when she came on Friday until she left today (Monday). We walked and danced a lot, also I was tasting all these wonderful foods, but I made sure I paid attention to my stomach, I stopped when I felt full in fear of throwing up. 2 Months - 43 pounds

    One Week Check UP

yes normal, you gained water weight at the hospital from the IVs. No worries, you'll be now losing weight. Don't get discouraged in 3 weeks, when you experience your first stall. It's totally normal as well. :-) Good Luck.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Med28thmed, you’re living in Corpus?! I grew up around there and lived in Corpus most of my adult life. We moved to Tulsa a few years ago. Small world, You must be missing KIng Seafood, S&J Kolachis and our Taquerias.. lol. We moved to Corpus 12 years ago from San Diego, CA. We love how smaller Corpus is compared to San Diego with 4 million people.

    Meal intake post op

3 meals and 3 snacks. My snacks are all after dinner and before I go to bed though. I've always had that problem...snacking at night. I still snack, but I've replaced them with: Popsicle sugar free jello with light whipped cream apple slices or an orange 40 calorie beef jerky Russell Stover sugar free chocolate handful of almonds

    This is why....

Wow, what an inspiring story! Please try not to go off on your meds again. Yes, think of your beautiful family that needs you. When is the surgery date? Keep us posted.

    This is why....

My husband's starting weight before my Gastric Bypass was 226 and he's 6'0. He is 13 years older than I am and he already suffered a heart attack 2 1/2 years back, he weighed 240 then. Before my surgery, I weighed 228 and i'm somewhat short 5'0.... ok, super short :-) I can influence my hubby every day. I think about food a lot and he gets swayed to what I feel like eating that day. Whether it's Pizza or sushi, Fajitas or a burger. I'm also the main cook in our house so I also cook what I feel like eating. Part of my decision to get the Gastric Bypass is to save my husband from having another heart attack, I love him 😞 and it hurts so much that my food addiction is what's going to kill him one day. Tomorrow marks my 2 months surgery anniversary. My husband now weighs 214 (total loss of 12 pounds!) He eats what I cook, and I now cook healthy foods. We also walk a lot now after work with our dog. I still have my moments. This past weekend, I wanted Pizza. I suggested that we order Domino's. We had 2 medium Pizzas delivered at our house. Both of us just ate 2 slices, then we foiled the rest of the pizza and put them in the freezer. My doctor doesn't want me to feel that I am dieting because he says deprivation doesn't work. It's how you incorporate the high calorie foods you ate that day and still end up at less than 1000 calorie that counts. Oh yeah, and I still lost 2 pounds this week. Sweeeet! Having cake and eating it too :-)
