Definitely don’t want a hernia. I was mainly wondering cause I go back to work next week and it’s in construction. Not awfully demanding but there are times when it is.On 03/22/2019 at 04:06, KateBruin said:
You want to start slow with weights. I ended up with an incisional hernia from a 2009 gallbladder removal. I had to lose weight before the hernia repair. They’re awful. I’m getting bypass in less than 2 weeks and plan on nothing but walking for 4 weeks. I have to continue physio for a shoulder surgery but we’ll reduce weight. -
Yes after 2 weeks I was cleared of 10 and after a month I was cleared to start lifting. Starting a slow is gonna be tough but definitely don’t want something to go wrongOn 03/20/2019 at 10:48, Diana_in_Philly said:
Has your medical team cleared you to lift more than 10 pounds? (That was my initial restriction after surgery.) I was cleared to lift as tolerated at my 2 week post op visit. Start slow and go with lower weights than you were lifting pre-surgery to give your body some time to adjust.

So I am a months and a few days post op of getting the sleeve done. Prior to surgery I have always been an active person I enjoyed football and lifting in high school. After I high school I always continued of and on lifting weight 4-5 days a week. Question is how long did some of y’all wait to get back into the gym lifting wise? I use cardio machines and sauna but wanting to get back into lifting

I had surgery the 15th of February. I just started the pureed diet. I am down from 52 pounds from the start of my 3 week pre op diet. Needing some recommendations food wise that helped y’all feel maybe more satisfied. My hunger seems to be almost the same as before surgery, but I am thinking it’s mostly in my head

Most of it was in my 3 week pre op diet. It was definitely not the easiest nor the fastest 3 weeks...

Hello I had the sleeve done last Friday the 15th. I am 20 years old and weighed at 352 before my 3 week pre op liquid diet. I am now 303 at 8 days post op. Sounds great but it seems like it didn’t even make a dent. How much Protein should I be Intaking right now? I can barely finish my 11 oz-30g of Protein Shake through out the day. Tips or how to be able to take more or am I okay for now?

8 days post of only thing really bothering me is a little pain around my incision area and the sensation of nausea

I had mine the 15th. I stopped pain meds after leaving hospital due to the fact that my prescription gave me horrible nausea and meds to control that didn’t work.

Hey guys, I had the gastric sleeve done Feb the 15th in south Texas. I am staying with an uncle and was planning on driving back home to Oklahoma tomorrow. I am still not feeling all that well regarding nausea. I am wondering how long it took for others to get over the nauseated feeling?
How soon after surgery did you wait to workout?

I started doing cardio and sauna 2 weeks post op and got back into free weights at 4 weeks (starting very light compared to the normal) I am now 7 weeks post op and have been gradually increasing up to normal plus my work requires some heavy lifting often
