I can relate to what you are going through. I started this journey in January and that’s when I mentioned it to my mother. She pretty much blew it off and was like “you don’t need that “ , “you are not that big”, “ just exercise and stop eating late .” So I continued going to my dr appointments and I kept trying to bring it up whenever I would see her. Fast forward to today , I got the news that I was approved and I haven’t shared that with her and we talk about everything. So it bothers me , but I have a super supportive husband that says nobody needs to know unless you want too tell them. I’m going to try and educate her on why I’m doing this and hopefully she will understand and support me just like she has with everything else in my life. If not it will be ok because in the end we all made this decision to live longer healthier lives. Good luck to you !!!!!

I understand completely, I’m 8 days post op and I still have 2 weeks to go before I move to the next stage. I had 2 crackers with my broth, I know I just needed something different. We don’t have a lot of choices during this phase , but we do have to be careful.
I’m not here to judge it’s confronting to know that someone else is going through the same thing. On the other hand I’m down 7lbs since surgery last week...... Whoop Whoop

Glad to know I’m not the only one. I’m 10 days post op with 0 energy to do anything. It’s hard to meet the Protein and Water goals but I’m trying. I just really want to feel normal again but I know that will take time.

Well my appointment with the Psychiatrist went well. I spent most of my time answering a 370 questionnaire and listening to the Dr speak to a group of 10. After that we each had a one on one visit that lasted about 30 minutes.
I also meet with the dietician and say the surgeon assistant to go over my labs. Next month will be my last weigh in and the last step is my sleep study. I did gain 3lbs. so hopefully that want cause any issues with the insurance approval. My goal is to loose 10lbs by my next visit and hopefully I will be approved for May.

My surgery went well on yesterday. I am looking forward to using this tool to get and keep my weight off. I am walking, drinking my fluids and hardly haven any pain. My doctor is discharging me tonight hopefully. This bypass went a whole lot better than the sleeve. I am going to be patient converting to solids. I actually feel great I am so glad I did this for me.

Same here , I was feeling great until Day 10. My pain is the same near my belly button but no where near the incisions. I was told the same thing by the dr muscle pain. The heating pad and Tylenol is helping a lot.

Yeah muscle pain or a lot of 3-renforcing stitching internally, as you continue healing they do start to pull. I am a great believer in warmth therapy, my family said I must be part cat and there are some who just accuse me of being Catty and Those are the people who believe they have a personal mandate from God to run things and that my life especially needs guidance. But there are a few of them in most every family.

You need to rest and sleep. You had major surgery. It takes a while to get the anesthesia out of your system. And you are taking in very few calories. I was exhausted for several weeks. I think it's totally normal. You have the rest of your life to walk. Be kind of yourself!

Shanda_2019 got a reaction from rubidogita in 3 weeks post op & craving food in my head
I just wanted to say “You are not alone” the post op liquid diet is challenging. Hopefully you will be starting the purée stage soon. I also look at food pictures and videos mostly on Instagram and just like you I wouldn’t eat it if it was in front me. Just the thought of knowing you can’t have something makes you want it. We have come to far to jeopardize our success, good luck on your journey.

I'm 7 days post op & I just ate 2 oz of cottage cheese. *side eyes myself* Except it went down just fine & I'm going to punch myself in the face & throw up if I have to eat another sip of Soup. Am I the only one who's cheated post op & should I expect to die in an hour or two? (kidding) I'm not even craving bad things, I just cannot take soup or Protein Shakes. CANNOT.

Day 6 here and yes the struggle is real. I’m hungry tired of Water, broth, popsicles, shakes, all that. I can’t wait to reach the purée stage. So just when you think you got it bad there’s those of us that are still on liquids. So push through keep your head up, you got this.

I'm so sick of liquids. I just want an egg or a bite of chicken. *sobs* I had half a Protein Shake last night, heh. It's just not doing it for me.

I was the 23rd & tonight is the first sip of a Protein Shake I've had. I've gotten down plenty of Water and Soup. And sugar free popsicles have been fine.

Hey Shanda! I was the 23rd & the hunger hit me this afternoon. I'd freaking love some cottage cheese, eggs, ground chicken. Sigh. It's gonna be a long two weeks. I've had Soup, but 4oz at a time isn't really doing much. I just in the last hour had my first sips of Protein Shake (up till now it sounded disgusting). My stomach is a little whoa what are you sending down. Also, I just woke up from a nap - had a dream I found a rogue box of cheez-it's & was eating those. Hahah. It's the 2nd dream I've had post-op where in my dream I'm well aware I've had gastric sleeve.
