  1. Today (following my monumental sobbing to my hisband) I’ve managed 200ml of water, a smooth banana yogurt, 1/2 a portion of a smooth pea soup comtaining protein & vitamins. I’ll take that. I’m going to try a peppermint tea for supper. Oh & I’ve had three trumps which I’m overjoyed about. #BabySteps
  2. Greenstar you are my life saver at the minute. I had a meltdown on my husband today...just sobbed (all be it silently as too much crying action is agony) I have just managed to eat a banana muller yogurt...it was painful but I’m sure I feel a bit better for it...xx
  3. I feel like I’ll never eat again or be pain free. I’m 48 hrs post op now...?
  4. Thank you! It helps to know it does get better. I’ve barely passed any gas at all (not for trying) home today so will mobilise more xx
  5. Thank you! I slept more last night...the first night was a wash out but last night not so bad. The pain though...oh my days! ?
  6. Hi all, so I’m 36 hours post VSG & OMG the pain. It’s there constantly a hot burning epigastric pain then the gas pain, shoulder tip pain & the pain when sipping small amounts of water. WILL THIS EVER GO?!! ???
  7. Thank you SO much, Phoebes04, you’re right...I feel exhausted & drained. I’ve told my manager that I’m having surgery on my hiatus hernia. My colleagues found out today & kept saying to me “So WHY haven’t you tood us you’ve had surgery??” We should know. I feel cross about it all & not what I needed emotionally. My husband is fussing over me & its just not what I need... Thank you for your advice! Xxxx
  8. So tomorrow sees my VSG day...so here’s the deal, I was determined it was happening, no nerves, no nothing. So today at work I’ve been irratable & teary. Alot down to me trying to tie up a lot of loose ends that wont get done if I dont do it...coupled with MORE work piled up on me. I worked three hours over to pull things back & feel frazzled. I drove home saying to myself “What the hell made you choose to do something so extreme?!!...this is a rash decision & you’re gonna regret it” I’ve come home & gone to bed, no bag packed nothing. I feel numb...I hope this will pass & I dont go on to regret this big time...??‍♀️?
  9. Thank you, @healthy_life I have been worried about such a short liver shrinking diet as some seem really extreme!
  10. I’m scheduled for this wednesday the 6th...???
  11. Oooh exciting!! I’m completely brand new to this forum so still finding my way. If there’s a way we can keep in touch on here that would be great! X
  12. Anyone out there having VSG on wed 6th feb. It’d be great to have a progress pal xxx
  13. Oh just bloody brilliant! I’m for VSG on wednesday & doing 48 hr fluids only. Then post op 2 weeks of fluids, 2 weeks thick liquid, 2 weeks mush...after that I’m at the dietician.
  14. It’s a complete minefield! It seems that more & more consultants are asking for very little pre-op prep. I guess asking people with severe enough weight problems to elect for surgery to severely restrict their intake is futile & I imagine if research were conducted on how many acheive their pre-op regime in full the results would be quite telling & alot of people are having their surgery having not followed their LSD!
  15. Hey all, I’m just wondering why there is SO much variation from bariatric consultant to consultant when it comes to a pre-op diet. Practices vary massively from very strict, restrictive plans to no requirements whatsoever. Does anyone know what side the research comes out on? Has anyone seen any research on post op experience based on differing pre-op regimes? thanks in advance! NH1
