  1. So my check in time is in 30 minutes and my parents who are supposed to give me a ride forgot. My husband called and it seemed like they were still in bed. My husband can't drive. I am freaking out because I am going to be late now.
  2. Dressed and ready to go. I didn't sleep well at all
  3. My surgery is tomorrow I have broth, sugar free jello and popsicles, protein water and sugar free flavoring for tap water. I do have miralax.
  4. I've only lost 3 pounds since the beginning of the pre op diet 5/20. So frustrating.
  5. My mom was my inspiration to start the process of seeking surgery. I knew from my coworkers our plan at work had started covering surgery but seeing her starting the process is really what motivated me. This particular one is my surgeon but the other surgeons at the hospital have videos too. There a lot of videos of surgeons at various hospitals so yours may have one too
  6. Having Miso soup broth for dinner. My husband and the kids are having teriyaki chicken takeout. I do worry about sodium with broth though. I don't like the beef broth much but chicken and miso have been my go-tos this week.
  7. He has high functioning autism and anxiety. He goes from being excited one minute because he would like me to be in better shape so we can do more outside activities to being worried about the hospital stay. My mom is 3 months post OP for VSG so I keep reminding him that grandma is fine and that he's seen her since her surgery. I think the reminders about my mom do help him. My bariatric clinic has YouTube videos of the surgeons explaining the procedures which has helped him too.
  8. Sipping a cup of fat free chicken broth this morning. My 9 year old was curious so I told him it was like chicken noodle soup with no noodles or chicken.
  9. I had a long list of vitamins that were acceptable from the nutritionist and have Centrum multivitamins
  10. I just made some for tomorrow. I also ate a sugar free popsicle. The popsicle helped with the need to have something textured.
  11. Breakfast Protein shake Snack Protein shake Lunch Broth Protein shake Dinner Protein shake Broth if still hungry And of course water. So much water need to make some SF jello
  12. Day 1 of full liquids. It's been hard. I had 4 protein shakes and a cup of Miso soup broth. right at 700 calories. I don't feel super hungry but I want to eat. Just drinking water right now
  13. I did 9 days of 2 shakes, 1 protein bar and 1 low carb high protein meal per day. averaged 900 calories a day Started my 5 days of liquids today. Hoping I see a little change.
  14. I have PCOS and am having surgery 6/3. I am scared I will not be able to lose weight or that I will only lose a little. My body is refusing to let anything go. I've lost two pounds since starting the pre op diet last week. I heard people saying they lost 10-15 pounds but not me. I start full liquids tomorrow.
  15. None. I had a BMI of over 50 with no comorbidities.
  16. Tomorrow I'm starting 5 days of just liquid before surgery. Today I had a protein bar but otherwise liquids all day. Had my pre op phone call with the anesthesia department today as well
  17. My 9 year old is mad me for buying healthier foods instead of pop tarts but we've started having issues with him sneaking food and eating late at night. He's stocky but not overweight yet and I am concerned about him struggling like I have. Besides I don't want temptation around
  18. I got the caramel on Amazon. I haven't tried the peaches and cream yet. Having a strawberry one for dinner. Had lettuce wrapped grilled chicken at lunch which was a picnic at the park. My weight hasn't changed in the last week yet I am eating between 800 and 900 a day on this pre OP diet. So frustrating as most people lose a bunch but my arthritis pain has decreased at least. Going to be going to all liquids in a few days and getting nervous.
  19. I haven't had surgery yet so not dumping. I'm about a week away. I have PCOS. If I eat too many carbs, it will make me hungrier causing me to want to eat more. My main triggers are bread, rice, pasta and sugar. Sugar is the worst one.Sugar from many fruits does it to me. Same with cookies, candy, cakes, regular sodas, juice, ice cream. I can tolerate some artificial sweeteners though. This article explains it https://www.obesityhelp.com/articles/what-is-carb-sensitivity-and-how-to-know-if-you-have-it
  20. I do. Glad I have the holiday off to get things done at least
  21. Calories are not the only thing to watch out for. Fruit is high in sugar and carb. The nutrition binder I got from my nutritionist says the most fruit at the soft food stage is a 1/4 c of unsweetened apple sauce or a 1/4 of a a mashed banana. That's total per day and they recommend mixing it with plain unsweetened yogurt or cottage cheese for the protein. I'm extremely carb sensitive and can only tolerate berries pre op so not sure I will eat any fruit.
  22. I really love the Atkins Cafe Caramel shakes but they are only 15g of protein and my nutritionist wants 20-30g of protein per shake. There are plenty of caramel flavored shakes but this one is coffee and caramel. Going to get some premier protein caramel shakes and see if I like them as much.
  23. Has anyone tried the Bariatricpal decaf coffee drink? I miss coffee right now.
  24. I'm supposed to do all liquids for 3 days starting next friday. I'm allowed protein shakes in addition to clear liquids, sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello during my liquid phase. May start a little early on Wednesday or Thursday. I've lost 2 pounds since Monday on 2 shakes, 1 protein bar and 1 light meal a day. Having a plain non fat yogurt this morning though. My husband got the kids donuts which is tempting.
  25. I am doing two shakes, a protein bar and one light meal. I don't have a pre op liver shrinking diet other than 3 days of liquids before surgery but I'm trying to do one anyway to get myself used to eating less. I feel like I'm getting used to it
