    vitamins for lifetime?

During my pre OP class last week the nurse and dietitian spent equal amount of time talking about how important vitamins are as they did on protein. As a matter of fact I've already started taking B12 liquid. I will be sleeved on April 29th.

    ❤ 17 Months Post Op ❤

You look fabulous and congratulations. Thank you for your positive post ,they are certainly inspiring. Wishing you continued good health.
  3. Next week I am going to do my shopping for my pre-op and post op, while taking into consideration my taste buds may change.
  4. The first time it was in Ft. Lauderdale. All other trips to Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando we only used bottled. I am just mindful now when i travel.
  5. I am good with tap water in NY and prefer it better. I learned my lesson when I traveled to FL that water tore my stomach up. When I travel overseas i stick to bottled water only.
  6. The infant water like the nursery brand or Gerber water is lower in Flouride and contain special minerals for baby. I used them to make formulas for my kids.
  7. Honestly I prefer tap water, but my kids insist on bottled water. When I travel to other states I drink only bottled water as their tap water upset my stomach.
  8. You are doing great so far. I am holding back on the excessive grocery myself especially not knowing what I will be able to tolerate. I will get the basic until I learn my new stomach.
  9. Regular water according to my dietitian. I asked how about tap water she said that is also fine.

    Newbie

Congratulations on your weight loss journey. There are plenty of information here for you to soak up. At times it can be overwhelming but people on here are super supportive. Regarding diet, some people try to loose before the surgery while others do not. Losing weight may also be a requirement in accordance with your insurance. I did not have to loose any, but I cut out a lot of the unhealthy foods. Lastly the pre op process goes by really fast and before you know it you will be posting your surgery date. Good luck

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Wishing you an easy surgery on Monday. Lenoxs Hills is great I know 2 people who had their sleeves done there. I actually went there for an information secession, but ended up going to Mt. Sinai since my PCP is there.

    April 2019 Surgeries!

My cardiologist told me to try to eat some salmon since they are good for the heart.I bought tuna and sardine and the thought of opening the can made me nauseous. Shrimp is at different level.

    April 2019 Surgeries!

We were also told no baby food because they are low in protein and high in carbs and sugar. I am going to use my nutri bullet to puree my homemade bean soup and puree bake chicken in broth. I don't eat seafood but hoping i will have a liking to them after surgery.

    denied

I am sorry to hear that you were denied. Did they say why? Your BMI seems to be on the lower side and from what I know you also have to have a related co-morbidities such as diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea and a few other diseases. Good luck on the appeal.

    Weight Stall Rant

Don't be discouraged 10 lbs in 10 days is amazing so far. Looks like you need to get in more water. From what I've read here the weightloss will happen. Remember this is a marathon and not a sprint and everyday is one step closer to the finish line.
  17. You lost a decent amount of weight from Sept.-March. From reading other members post ,some lost a lot while others did not. You should be proud for the total weight loss so far.

    April 2019 Surgeries!

My pre op time frame is 10 days protein and 2 days clear liquid starting on the April 17th. I went to the preop and post OP class today with dietitian and nurse. Post up on day one is clear liquid and advance to puree starting 2nd day after surgery, or while at the hospital on day one. They told us to do our best on the puree stage. This last for 4 weeks. We have to make sure we get in 50g protein and 48-64 ozs of water. I was suprise that puree stage is so soon, but dietitian said it is to get our digestive track moving again so that we can use the muscles.

    April 2019 Surgeries!

    Congratulations guys, you did it!!
  20. Like cheeseburg, my doctors office made sure they covered all the bases.
  21. At my first visit my surgeon's nurse provided me with a list of department with the name of doctors who perform test and procedures. Since you already have doctors please check with Dr. Mehata to see if you can use them, especially the psychiatrist since you already established a relationship. If not ask if they have a team of doctors with whom they work with. I did all of my procedures/test at Mt. Sinai in NYC because it's the hospital I've been going to for everything for quite a few years. Because they already have my medical records, it made it easier for my surgeon to have access to all of my results. Best...

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Wishing everyone a safe and successful surgery today. I feel like I am on a line watching everyone's number being called except mine. Nonetheless I feel such a special joy for everyone as this journey is life changing and the road may have been rough for some but through it all we made it this far.
  23. I cant imagine whats it like to go through a double long transplant, and wish you and your hubby a lifetime of good health. Yes exactly about the same time each month. They will count the 11th as your first visit, what you can do if possible is ask if you can meet with the nutrition on Wednesday. If not, no worries you can make the appointment for the same day on your other visits. If you haven't as yet make sure you find out if your surgeon is within network. I reached my deductible with my sleep Apnea test and my responsibility will be 10% for the procedure which will be well worth it.
  24. I have Aetna, and my advise to you is once you go to your appointment on the 11th and they provide you with all of the requirement make them as quickly as possible. The requirements for me were, endoscopy, 4 consecutive monthly, visits with my surgeon, cardiologist, psychologist, sleep test, 3 consecutive visits with a physiatrist, 3 consecutive dietitian visit, stress test, a visit to see my PCP for clearance. It is also require me to get one last pre-op class, and meeting with the anesthesiologist and blood work. If you smoke you will need to be off nicotine and may nee to do other test(I am not a smoker so not sure on the test.). Lastly some surgeon require a liver shrinking fast. Mine is for 14 days. I seen where some people have to do one week, a few days, one month or not at all. Make sure you ask as much questions as possible so you understand the process and the requirement. I started my in October, but I choose to spread my appointment out, as all the appointment became overwhelming and I had my mind set on April. I will be having my surgery April 29th. I hope this helps and wishing you the best.

Exercising I can do at o over 600 lbs

I agree with MontrockGirl. You can also try both leg lifts and working out with weights while siting, but as always it is important to check with your doctor to avoid injuries.
