I found these 3 pieces at the thrift store today. I really love the vest.
The 2nd pic is today’s outfit. Very simple, oversized sweater and leggings. The sweater wasn’t always oversized, 😂, but it’s still super comfy.

I like how you put the vest over a thin, long sleeve turtle neck. See, I would not have bought the vest because of my awful bat wings 😔 Now seeing it like this I would definitely buy it.

I’m on a bit of an emotional struggle bus, so I went with clothes that are comfy and just make me happy. I do have a meeting with my executive director, so I wore my fancy corduroy overalls instead of my denim ones 😂

Such a cute outfit! I LOVE coveralls and especially corduroys 😊

The winter boots of cause have a thermal sole in it so the feeling of "walking barefoot" is not as extreme as it is e. g. with their ballerinas.

However, when you have (chronic?) plantar fasciitis you'd have to build up slowly. Quite a few people got rid of foot problems when they switched to barefoot walking (or so they claim, hopefully it's not only a marketing lie) but you'd have to strengthen and stretch both the foot and the calves.

Anyway I switched to barefoot/0 mm heel drop during my last year of med school during internship when I had to attend ward rounds and noticed often an aching lower back and/or knees and/or feet as time went on when on ward rounds. Pain went away and is gone since then.

I'm willing to try anything that will help. The pain has lessened with the weight loss but is still there. I will take your advice and start stretching as well. Thanks!

I love them, but "comfortable" is something completely subjective. They have very thin soles so you have to be comfortable with walking barefoot.

True. And I do have problems walking barefoot... plantar fasciitis 😔

A Desigual delivery arrived just today and brand new Vivobarefoots. 😁

Are they comfortable? I'm always looking for a good pair of comfortable shoes.

Anyone wearing anytype of scarfs, wraps, pashminas, hijabs, geles, etc?

(I bought a bucket load of silk scarfs in Barcelona, Rome & Paris a while back and I love them so much they barely see the light of day because I'm afraid to ruin them 😞)

I'm guilty of doing the same thing with what I call "luxury" or hard to replace items. I always have to remind myself that it's better to have love and lost than to never have loved at all. They're not giving you joy if they're stuffed in your drawer. So enjoy them now or somebody else will when your gone. Then hand wash with Woolite 😉

I forgot to mention my favorites. My current favorites are Quest Hero bars (the Heroes are different from the regular Quest bars, but they taste more like candy bars to me, so they could be risky...) and Robert Irwin's Fit Crunch bars (but you need to find the snack size ones - 190 kcal. His Meal Replacement ones are over 300 kcal - too much for us)

Yesss! Quest heros are the best tasting!

Has anyone seen or heard from this member? I noticed that she has not been here in awhile and am concerned.

Pretty sure that she has been a daily poster for awhile now. Hoping that she has just been busy.

You read my mind! I thought about her yesterday. I hope she's doing good I'm a little concerned too.

Oh no! You were sooo close too! They call Patterson little Lima because of the large Peruvian population. Heres a pic of when I went for the first time. I was shocked by all the flags and how there was an area called Peru square lol. Hopefully you get a chance to go back. I went to a Peruvian restaurant that had over 60 dishes! At first that scared me but everything was really good and fresh. The food took forever to come out though. A good sign.

I've notice the increase in Nikkei in the U.S. too, not sure whats making it so popular all of a sudden.

The term Nikkei is fairly new but the fusion has been around for a very long time in Peru. There was just never a proper name for it until recent years. Peru has the largest population of Chinese people in Latin America and second largest population of Japanese (Brazil is #1 for Japanese) which created the two fusions. Kinda makes me think of the banh mi sandwich Vietnam has with the French influence. Sadly I've never even tried one yet! Its on my food bucket list lol

I went to a Chifa spot in NJ pre-op. This is what it looks like so you have an idea. I ordered the wonton Soup and my brother and bf ordered the lomo saltado with arroz chaufa.

Instead of the traditional Chinese wonton Soup that has a light broth, veggies (depending the place), and wontons, the Chifa one is heavier. Chifas version has roasted pork, duck, chicken, and beef all marinated with peppers native to Peru, veggies, and a million overstuffed wontons..... but seriously, these things are always overstuffed. I honestly thought i would never see the bottom of my bowl! You cant really see them because they have sunken down to the bowl, thats how heavy they are. The flavor is similar to the traditional Chinese but does have a little twist because the broth is made with different cuts of meat.

The lomo is basically a steak stir fry with french fries, tomatoes, red onions, peppers, and cilantro. The Chaufa is fried rice with a twist in flavor. It was a great meal and made me seriously miss Peru.

I feel your pain with being let down. It seems like once you find a good place, there isnt consistency. Oh and i love Ajiaco! I think its hard to find because its more of home dish, nothing too fancy.

Ill be trying a drink this Thursday! Im curious to see what happens lol

Whooo, sorry for hogging space, that was a mouthful!

MarvelGirl are you a food blogger? If not, you definitely need to become one! You're taking us to school with this...it's great! 😊

Hello all! New member here! My surgery was April 9th and I've lost 71lbs so far. I've been experiencing a stall for the last 3 months and am very frustrated! 😔

I have lost about 80 and I'm stuck. I'm stuck because of my own fault. I'm not eating or exercising the way I should! I don't want to go back where I started so I need to get it together!

I am feeling ya both.. I stalled out and I know that I am not doing what I should be, I am doing much better than I was before the surgery but I know I am not counting and such I do measure while at home but not while out. I do snack since my nutritionist said I could have 1 a day... but I usually have 2 but they are fruit or nuts nothing too awful.

You guys can do it! The holidays are over. Now is the time to recommit yourself and get the scale moving again.

What has helped me is eating my Protein first and stopping right when I start to feel full. I'm a pretty fast eater and I don't take my time to eat just so I can eat the whole portion. Listen to your stomach not your mind when you want another bite. I don't count right now either I just try to keep track of my protein.

    P.S. Welcome Miss Liss 😊

  12. Doing great since surgery. I could be doing better to reach my Protein goals but make up for it with a shake. It's amazing how little I can eat still. I can just now finish an egg and haven't yet finished a chobani yogurt. I have about 18 more pounds to loose to reach my goal weight and may have to add in more Snacks after that to stay in maintenance. I'm not counting calories just trying to reach my protein goals right now. Hope all my April 2019 brothers and sisters are doing good! We're almost to our one year anniversary!
