  1. Thanks! I was hoping it wouldn't be that long but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. They just seem to mess up my digestive system

    Big Goals

That's great! I was a volunteer firefighter in my twenties until I relocated for my job. You're going to love it and the camaraderie that comes with it. I gotta give it to you on the running.....you're brave!
  7. I've seen some beautiful boho wedding dresses on Pinterest.

    Well, I Did It!

That's better than I thought it would be! I may have to travel out of state to get mine done. Cosmetic surgery in CA is so expensive. I hope you have a speedy recovery and take it easy. 😊

    Well, I Did It!

I bet you're so relieved that it's over! Did your insurance pay for it? If not, do you mind me asking how much it cost? I'm sure I will need it once I reach my goal.

    Plateau to Onederland!!!

    Congratulations!!! 👏🙌😀
  13. I didn't say anyone is dismissing head hunger. I said they dismiss real hunger just like you are doing in your post.
  14. I've heard that before too! There's definitely a difference between head hunger and real hunger and to have it dismissed as head hunger for all of us is just ignorant. That would be like saying we all loose weight at the same rate and if you don't your just not following your program! Not the case....everybody is different.
  15. I couldn't handle protein for almost a month and like you had to heat my liquids to be able to tolerate them. Even until recently some days my stomach would feel yucky and some days it would feel fine. You're still healing so it's to be expected that you'll have ups and downs. Just try to stay hydrated first and foremost. Also I was not one of the lucky ones who's hunger disappeared. I was hungry day two and it was NOT head hunger or stomach acids but I'm able to ignore it much easier post op.

    Flinstones Vitamins..?

My team recommends 2 Flinstone complete, calcium citrate plus vitamin D-3 1200-1500 mg/day (500-600mg 2-3 times a day- three if post menopause) and B12 500 mcg/day (sublingual)
  17. You're welcome! Good luck on your weight loss journey 😊
  18. Before my surgery I asked my surgeon how often he has to do an "open" surgery and he said it's very uncommon these days and it has been years since he's done one.

    Waiting for approval

I went through the same emotions and honestly nothing prepared me for how my relationship to food would change. I do miss eating the way I used to but I'm glad for the restriction that prevents me from doing it. You'll feel frustrated at times like when you go out to a nice dinner and can't eat much of it. There is an emotional learning curve but it's so worth it. I feel like I've traded one joy for another but food only gave me an intermittent joy followed by sorrow and regret. The restriction gives me joy every day that I hop on the scale and joy from seeing my health and quality of life improving. I chose the greater joy and I'm sure you'll feel the same. Good luck 😊

    ❤ 19 months Post Op ❤

I love your location 😊 You look great and I hope everything works itself out concerning your gerd so you don't have to suffer with it much longer.
  21. My surgeon injected some great nerve blocker in that area that kept my stomach numb for well over a week so there was no pain at all. I hope you feel better quickly because a 10 is horrible pain

    April 2019 Surgeries!

I hopped on the scale this morning and finally made it to Onederland! 199.9 but hey I'll take it! It took nine weeks to get there and I could have never done it without this surgery. I hope all my April surgery brothers and sisters are doing good on on their weight loss journeys. 😊
