HELP I'm so stressed and I SMOKE
justmetj replied to michellehill's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I smoked years ago and quit using Nicoderm CQ. If I remember correctly it's a two month program. If you only smoke a pack every few days you could start out on step two and it would only take about a month to quit. It really helps calm your nerves while eliminating the habit. -
Make sure you are drinking your water. The water is what helps flush the fat out of your system. Also make sure you're eating enough food that your body is not in starvation mode.

Clipping my toenails and breathing at the same time 🤣 Which I can actually do now! -
Congratulations I hope you have an easy and speedy recovery 😊

You can buy it online. I got mine from https://www.trythecbd.com/ I purchased the 5,000 mg.
-
Have you tried CBD oil? It helped me a lot with the pain I had in my feet.

OMG you did it!!! Congratulations GradyCat! Like Willy Wonka says, "I knew you would. I just knew you would!" 🙌 👏

This is from the ASMBS website: Q: Do I need to avoid caffeine after bariatric surgery? A: Caffeine fluids have been shown to be as good as any others for keeping you hydrated. Still, it is a good idea to avoid caffeine for at least the first thirty days after surgery while your stomach is extra sensitive. After that point, you can ask your surgeon or dietitian about resuming caffeine. Remember that caffeine often comes paired with sugary, high-calorie drinks, so be sure you’re making wise beverage choices. I waited a month then started drinking it again.

I've never heard of the rice cream test to check stomach volume over time. Interested to know if anyone has ever done this and what kind of results they had. -

You're welcome 😊 -
If any of you haven't tried ScarAway silicone scar sheets yet I definitely recommend them. I've seen a noticeable improvement on the appearance of my scars after using them when my steristrips came off. You can keep them on for up to two weeks and you don't even feel them. Here's the link to the site that has a $3.00 off coupon you can print out also https://www.myscaraway.com/product/scaraway-silicone-scar-sheets/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8fGNqbKP4gIV1RitBh3JRgw4EAAYASAAEgK6_PD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds P.S. They can also be cut down to size

Surgery release question
justmetj replied to sunsetchaser's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you could call the hospital where you're having your surgery and ask them. When I was discharged the nurse at the hospital had to walk me out and watch me get into the vehicle and see that my husband was driving. It seems like they could give you an accurate answer, but like the above posters recommended, I'm sure a taxi or an uber would be fine. -
Congratulations! What a great way to reward yourself for your hard work 😊
