Surgery Date 6/06/19 - I think I'm ready!
justmetj replied to Cala B.'s topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Wow you've thought of everything! I feel so unprepared now 🤣 Thank you for sharing 💜 -
Very true. Carbs are an important part of our dietary needs as far as energy is concerned. Also on further review of the caffeine in the Optimum Nutrition, caffeine is also sourced from green coffee so maybe not a good choice.
-
Yes you're right it does have caffeine from green tea. The same source of caffeine that mousecat88 has already ordered.
-
Yes, definitely a difference! That's great!👏👏👏

I recommend Optimum Nutrition Amino Acids. It's a great pre work out and it's also good to use if you're intermittently fasting. https://www.gnc.com/optimum-nutrition-amino-energy/352490.html?mrkgcl=1098&mrkgadid=3317257956&product_id=352490&flagtype=nonbrand&vendor=none&channel=ppc&adpos=1o2&creative=304499128058&device=t&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIg8LP-NKW4QIV7h-tBh0Gbg2WEAQYAiABEgLZ_vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Today is my one year surgiversary!

That's amazing! Congratulations on your success 😊 -
So sorry... I've seen this before when in my profession, I used to work with some mental health examiners. That's why I say if it's not a problem don't write it down as it is. For example- Do you see visions? Your answer might be YES! And the reason why is (Because you often visualize how you'll look when your fit and healthy) They will construe the answer a lot differently.) Mind you this is just an example. So this question would be answered NO! Other wise your going to have to explain yourself.

Scared and Anxious Pre Op
justmetj replied to bookworm88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I feel the same. But I also know that after years of failing diets and my body now feeling like it's taken it's toll I know now is the time to ask for help. And that's what this surgery will give me,a tool, to help me make better choices than I am now. The alternative is nothing. No help and no hope at all. -
Advice for pre-op diet and journals
justmetj replied to KayBes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think if you show that you are adhering to the diet on paper and can keep loosing at least a little every weigh in you'll be fine. Good luck and ask any questions that come to mind. This is a great forum with lots of helpful friendly people that are all going or have gone through the same things.😊 -
Help needed, swelling bloated stomach

It could be an intestinal problem instead of a stomach issue. If your intestines are inflamed it causes bloating and in turn pressure to your stomach that will worsen your reflux. -
Advice for pre-op diet and journals
justmetj replied to KayBes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That seems a little extreme. I also had to do a food journal for four months. We were required to write it down. All I can tell you about that is to try to stay on top of it because falling behind then trying to catch up is stressful and time consuming. My nutritionist told us that the journals were for feedback. I would write down if I had a piece of cake on my birthday and stuff I shouldn't have had on Christmas but I always tried to keep the portions small. I don't think they expect you to be perfect throughout this process. I mean on the diet they have you on you won't even need the surgery in eleven months. I think your Dr. would go out of business if you all adhered to that perfectly. -
Yes. After I saw him I then went with my coordinator and she gave me the list of tests that he required me to have done and also to schedule my monthly nut visits.
-
Before my consultation I had to fill out a medical history questionnaire. My Dr. then just went through that with me and told me about the surgery choices I had and a little about the post op diet and expected weight loss. I was there for about 30 mins.

I'm a 49 year old woman and I can definitely relate. So what you're going through sounds normal. Don't make more of it than what it is or they will too. Good luck!
-
Ok think about the questions they asked and how they can be construed when answered. It will save you from a lot of follow up questions! Anything that relates to weight i.e. fatigue, mobility, pain can easily be explained as weight related. The rapid mood swings, thoughts of dying, crying episodes? Ask yourself if they are normal thoughts or emotions that probably everyone has. If the answer is yes than it's not a problem so don't tell them that it is. It's just normal human emotions/feelings/thoughts. Of course if you do think it's out of the norm then you can tell them and they can help you work through your problems.

Need a recommendation for last minute psych eval
justmetj replied to kbil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I highly recommend BariatricPsychEvaluations.com. They were very friendly and will do a phone interview. The cost for the evaluation was $150 if your insurance doesn't cover it. This was who my Dr. recommended. I did the online questionnaire on a Wednesday and the phone interview two days later on Friday. -
Just got back from my manometry test. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it isn't something I would want to do again. I'm glad I did a lot of research on it and I appreciate all your input. That was the last of my tests and my final Drs. Apt. is on March 29th then it will be submitted to insurance 😊
-
I'm afraid to get my manometry done on Feb. 19th. And was wondering if any of you had any complications or was it easier than you thought it would be. You really don't have to sugar coat for me I can handle any graphic details. Be as honest as you can. I don't want to go in there and wake up in the middle of my egd like I did. I want to actually be prepared for this one.
