Is my band too tight?
You are probably still swollen and it is very common to be tight in the morning. I have 8.5 in a 10 cc band and after this last fill, I cant eat until noonish. I usually have to stay on liquids for 48 hours after a fill. What does your doc recommend?

WHAT FOODS GETS STUCK or give you problems?
I have 8.25 cc in a 10 cc band. After this last UNfill (Couldnt even keep down liquids) These are the foods that get stuck ALWAYS, no matter how small a bite or how well I chew: Pinto beans Bread Tortillas Sopapillas donuts cake muffins brownies grapes hot dogs scrambled eggs French fries Orange Juice Hamburgers from any fast food place As you can see, most are foods on my list we aren't suppose to be eating anyway, so I guess I'm better off, huh!

Problems Eating Certain Foods
Scrambled eggs are not my friends. I sure do miss a good omelette. Especially from Weck's... They are so fluffy and delish... o'well. :crying:

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP
I ate Cookies and drank high calorie fruit punch last night till I thought I'd pop! :crying: I couldnt stop! I dont know what is wrong with me. I had a satisfying dinner and did so well all day. I didnt PB but I went to bed with the worst stomach ache! I felt sooooooo full, but I kept shoving down those homemade sugar cookies and washing it down with that fruit punch... UGH. Sometimes I dont know why I even bother.... Seems no matter what I do, I screw myself. I kinda felt like, why stop? You already went there.... if that makes any sense...

You know, the band is fickle. There are times I can eat and drink easily, and times where everything I try to eat comes back up. GO FIGURE! Dont live on Cheetos... its not good for you!

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP
Thank you for your support! It was a long drive but so worth it when I was able to drink something on the way back without having it come up on me! December is a long time to be miserable. I was going to try to tough it out, but I've read so much about being too tight and having complications because of it. I'm glad I went. :frown:

How do I deal with my friend???

Can't eat much, need advice.
I went for a slight unfill and I feel 200% better! I too was living on cheetos, as they seemed the only thing that would stay down! I joked with the nurse that I wanted a total unfill for about 5 minutes so I too could down a gallon bottle of water! I was sooooooooo thirsty! Dont wait. Get some taken out asap! Even a little makes a BIG difference!

DON'T WAIT! My surgeon is 4 hours away, but I drove there yesterday for a very small unfill. Made all the difference in the world! I was living on cheetos and slurpees because they went down easy. Now, i'm back to solid Proteins and just so releived that I can eat and drink how I am suppose to! Good luck to you!

Stuck!
Thanks! I lost 6.5 lbs in 2 weeks and he was concerned. I ended up having 2.5 cc taken out and I felt an immediate difference. Hopefully it wont be too much out. I have an appointment in January, just in case I need a tad more put in.

So hard to get the protein!
51 grams is too much at one time. Your body wont be able to metabolize it. Its much better to get in about 25 or so every few hours.... so says my dietitian.

Getting depressed or down...
I was first seen by the surgeon in October of 2007 and didn't get my surgery until April of 2008. I had to see 16 different specialists for testing before the surgeon would proceed with the surgery! It's hard to wait when you are ready to move on with it, but try to be patient. It is well worth it in the long run!

So hard to get the protein!
I'm not a big fan of Protein drinks either. I've found that if you mix vanilla powder with your favorite crystal light packet, it can be tolerable. Also, I've found a fruit punch powder that I mix with a wylers fruit punch packet that works too! Good luck and let me know if you find anything new to try!

Doctors blame everything on the band!
I hear ya! I had been taking the same anti depressant for 5 years and earlier this year, it started making sick to my stomach every night. My band surgeon said it had nothing to do with the band, but my primary said since I was fine before it HAD to be the band! We never did find out what it was, so I have been trying to switch to other antidepressants but so far, everything makes me puke after a certain dosage. That said, it isnt getting stuck... just makes me sick. I'm frustrated and irritated by the whole situation... I get tired of docs blaming the band for everything... sigh...:hi:

Sounds like swelling to me too. Last week, I had the same problem eating and drinking and I would pb after everything I ate of drank. My nurse said I should do two days of warm liquids, and that helped TREMENDOUSLY. I still think my band is too tight and am going for a slight unfill today, but the heartburn has gone down so much! YAY!

Question on Being Full
I've heard cheese is just glorified fat, but I happen to think cheese is a healthy snack, if eaten in moderation! Can't give up my cheese!

Stuck!
How much did they take out? I'm going to drive to El Paso day after tomorrow to see my surgeon for an unfill. Its a 4 hour drive each way, but I am having a hard time getting much down. I hope he doesnt take TOO much out... just enough so I can drink more liquids! I'm sooooooo thirsty!
