  1. I'm feeling pretty depressed and guilty and discouraged and and and... and I'm tired of feeling this way! I've got my band in april of last year and didnt get my first fill until 6 months later. I've lost 55 pounds since but just cant seem to stay on track these days. Ice cream.. crackers.. mini candy bars at work... sometimes in the afternoon at work, I cant stop thinking about a snack. I obsess over it and end up becoming grouchy because I cant stop thinking about it. I end up feeling deprived and punished because I cant eat what I want... then the guilt that I even feel like that in the first place makes it worse. sigh... WHATS WRONG WITH ME??? I'm so happy with my success so far, but I feel I cant do it anymore. I was going to the gym 3 times a week, so even when I cheated, I wouldnt gain. Unfortunately I fell and hurt my ankle 4 weeks ago and can only do so much before I'm in too much pain.... so now I only go 1 or 2 times a week. I was working back to my consistency, but then I must of reinjured it because it started swelling up and hurting so I am back to square one. Boo! Although I know my depression meds contribute to my weight gain and my lust for sweets, it doesnt make me feel any better. Feels like excuses. Its my 41st bday today and I had wanted to reach my first goal of 200 pounds by today, but am 11 pounds short... and its my fault. I get up every morning and tell myself that today I wont eat anything I am not suppose to and that I will go to the gym and be proud of myself... but that never seams to happen. You only get what you put into it, and i'm not putting into it what I should. Sigh.... Sorry to be such a whiner, i'm just not in a good frame of mind...

  5. I'VE GOT IT!!! I looked up Ketosis and you are right. Everything sweet I eat in the last few days tastes bitter or weird and i've been wondering whats up. It is when you have a high protein/low carb diet and your body starts metabolising fats for energy instead of carbs. I had a fill a week ago and this started about 3 days ago.
  6. I started the day after my surgery while still in the hospital. The nurse says it happens alot. Minor inconvience since I was in another city and had no transportation to pick up pads and bring back to my hotel. My mom had to take a cab to walgreens.
  7. HI Anna, No worries, I dont mind pushy! :crying: Have you been banded yet? I had my banding done April 23rd by Dr. Eldo Frezza in Lubbock, TX. Presbyterian Salud paid for it, but unfortunately, wont pay for the fill in radiology. Dr. Frezza wont do office fills because he doesnt make as much money that way. That's not my opinion, he said that to me personally. Each time i've seen dr. Frezza, he has been cold, unfriendly, and at some points, even rude. I'm in the process of changing Dr.s to Mesa del Sol in El Paso. So far, i've lost 33 pounds but its been real slow going after the 3rd week post op. SO far what I have learned is that I require some type of support and direction, and have not had any as of yet. I was happy to see your post and hope we can be friends who will support each other with this life changing surgery. Hope to hear back from you soon!
  8. Hi Anna! My name is Linda and I live in Albuquerque. What part of the state are you in?
  9. Oh my! I'm curious too about fills. I had my surgery on April 23rd and have lost 29 lbs so far. My appetite is coming back and I can tolerate any food. I'm still trying to get my insurance to help pay for it... Let me know how it goes for you if you get yours first!
  10. I've also thought of cheating by eating something with flavor. I have to be on clear liquids till May 7th and I had such a hard time tonight! Instead of cheating, I got online and occupied my time and now the hunger has passed. It will be worth it. Its only been a little over a week for me and I've already lost 18 pounds!
  11. Hey! I was banded on April 23rd as well! I havent had much trouble, but still get a touch of the runs when I try to eat bullion or broth. I think the hardest part is that I still have to cook for my kids and my will power is put to the test! I cant wait till next week when I can eat oatmeal or mashed potatoes! Ahhhh... the small pleasures of life! Congrats and keep me posted on how you are doing!
