I will absolutely take a few bites for you! 🙂 My husband and I love the garden district too. We always stay at one of the Hilton properties in the heart of everything, park our car and we don't get back in the car until it's time to return home! I LOVE walking everywhere.

Right now I have to take 1 multi and 3 calcium chews. I hate the multi, but I would hate what would happen if I didn't take them more, so I take them. They are huge, chalky, and gross but I manage to choke them down first thing in the morning. They don't make me nauseous though. Certain foods and my Protein Shakes make me nauseous.

I am not sure what my Vitamin regimen will look like after my followup and labs, but hopefully it remains.

    Enjoy that cooler weather!

Sophie and Psyched: I like New Orleans as well. Be safe and have a great time Sophie! So my vitamin regimen is 2 Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin chews, 2 30mg Bariatric Advantage Iron chews (they both taste like starbursts. I like them) and 2 calcium chews also by Bariatric Advantage. I tried the Celebrate 45mg Complete Vitamin but it tasted like a flintstone vitamin and it didn’t do well on my stomach. So my nutritionist said it was ok for me to get my Vitamins like I take them now.

Thanks, Steve!... Like many of us - I am striving for that 199 pd. milestone come Spring! It has been over 20 years since I was under 200. ;[ So, I am very excited to know the sleeve will assist me to never going back to that place again. Congratulations!!! on your 46 loss. Just think 36 pounds more to go AND we will all be admiring you on the June cover of GQ! ;]

Ladies, I also struggled with nausea from Vitamin regime, but I think thru trial & error (and, throwing a lot of gag stuff away) over the past few weeks - I found Flintstones complete (2 a day) recommended by LOLO, Celebrate B-12 quick melt and calcium citrate orange soft chews to be working well. It helps to take them after a meal, and I try to stagger the doses (while not very convenient) for less irritation.

Like Steve, I am tolerating solid meat Proteins well. Just had Chipotle pulled pork recipe from Sarah Kent's cookbook for Sleeves (a bariatric nutritionist from a surgery center of excellence). Only eat ¼ - ½ servings and instead of a bun - I wrap three little sandwiches in english cucumber (almost seedless) or Bibb lettuce leaf (soft). Delicious and long satisfying! Her recipes have kept me sane, and do introduce balance like Steve mentioned, other important nutrients besides "all protein" especially, post op 6 - 7 weeks and onward... If you are able to tolerate.

Many are very happy eating clinically and precise just for fuel... I have always been a foodie, and have enjoyed experimenting with new and better ways of eating for a long-term, sustainable Sleeve lifestyle. We also like to entertain.

Her baked vanilla oatmeal with various fruit options is excellent with high Protein ingredients. I have this many mornings heated with a little 1% milk to soften. It keeps me energized without a drain. I am losing right on schedule without crave or hunger which is also Sarah's goal for scientifically sound formulated menus.

Unfortunately, I never liked Greek yogurt, flaked fishes, crab or tuna fish without a mayo mask. Her book does include a Fish chapter with dishes I plan to try and be open to... Shrimp cocktail tonight. ;]

I think all our December Sleevers are doing great each at their own pace thru the good, bad and ugly! None of this is a tip toe thru the tulips!

Thanks Sophie! I’m going to look up the Sarah Kent cookbook. I’m down 28lbs. But I’m having problems with my main puncture site healing. It’s a small open hole that I have to pack twice a day. So once this heals I’ll be cleared for exercise. I’m still off from work as well.

Thank goodness for this forum or I wouldn't have learned about the dreaded Week 3 stall. I was going crazy trying to figure out how I could be eating so little and exercising and yet not dropping any weight. Thank goodness in Week 5 the numbers on the scale are starting to move again. I wish my bariatric office had forewarned me about the Week 3 stall so I'd have been prepared for it and not freaking out.

Yea I’m glad too. But when I went to my 4 week appointment last week, my surgeon assistant told me usually stall at 3 weeks and again at 6 months. She said don’t panic. Just continue the plan but do something different like add more Water or walk an extra 15 mins for example and the weight will start to drop again. Also my surgeon does not want me drinking Protein Drinks anymore. He would rather you eat the Protein. So if I’m struggling that day to get my protein intake then I’ll drink 1 Premier Protein or Syntrax.

Steve why have U jettisoned shakes ? I am convinced that the name of the game is to pack the most Protein in fornthr least calories and the shakes get u there . My pure Protein Shakes are 35g of Protein for only 160 calories . My doc says drink at least one shake a day until ur at goal - I am trying to do 2 and am going to start green smoothies with unflavored protein so I can get veggies together with protein . I am down 30 since preop and 23 since 12/20 surgery .

LoLo how do you like the Pure Protein Drinks? And which flavor? I was on their website the other day and they have several flavors to choose from in the can.

Hi Ms. Stacy! Floridians and surgery twins, Yeah!!! ;] We were in the 40's last night closing all the windows... love this weather with no need for a/c or heat. I am currently trying to work in all the Vitamins required per day. The large disc orange chewables by Celebrate really made me gag and can't seem to tolerate them. We re-ordered capsule form for multi and Calcium, and I'll try again. ;[ A bit overwhelming since I never took even a multi pre-op. Overall, so glad to be rid of all liquids and puree phases. Yuck! Soft food phase apparently very important according to my surgeon to begin to re-train our tiny stomachs to function at digesting again or it get's lazy. Like you, continue to work in Water and Protein. Most days I come up short, but feel I am doing the best I can given all the major changes in such a compact timeline. Congratulations on 20 pounds, Ms. Stacy! Outstanding! I have stalled at 225 but feel I'm shrinking everyday despite the scales. How are you doing with the Vitamin regime?! Happy day! ;]

Sophie don’t worry about the stall. I was told it’s normal. Just keep getting in your Protein and Water. My nutritionist told me I should be sipping from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed. Except when 30min before and after a meal. So one of the ladies in my post op support group said she sets her alarm for every 8mins and takes a sip. I’ve been doing that since Monday and it is working. I drink my Premier Protein drink and then I eat high protein food like Greek yogurt, turkey, etc. I was taking the Celebrate Complete 45mg but it made me nauseous and I would vomit within 5mins of taking it. So I talk to my nutritionist and I order the Bariatric Advantage multi Vitamin chew and the chewy Iron 30mg. I chew two a day. I also do the bariatric advantage chewy 500mg Calcium. Works well for me.

Hi ALL December 2018 SLEEVERS! I just learned about and joined BP Monday evening! My surgery date was December 17, 2018. Moving into 5 weeks out on soft foods and beginning to figure out Vitamin + supplement regime. Oh boy!? ;\

I live in West Palm Beach, Florida - originally from State College, PA - Go Penn State! My roommates in college were UM cheerleaders... but we worked it all out! Haha. ;]

Just wanted to introduce myself and wondered how everyone else is progressing? Wishing for a very promising New Year for us all! And, I think we all deserve "special credit" having endured pre-op liquid fasts (and other procedures) through the major festive holiday season, don't you!? :]

Hey Sophie. I’m in Duval County! We are cold up this way. We are surgery twins 🤗.... I’m 5’7, HW 372, SW 339, CW 319. I’ve only lost 20lbs so far. I’m on soft foods and I was just able to get my Water and Protein in on Monday. So far so good with that. How are you coming along?

Just keep trying different things till u find something u like . I cannot eat enough to get my Protein in so I am committed to using drinks and Soups until that improves

Baritastic. Great app. It was recommended to me when I got sleeved almost a month ago. I track Water, food, exercise, and weight loss. It breaks down the food for you as far as Protein, carbs, and fat and you can scan in the upc codes and it has yet to recognize one for me so far. You can also say it or look it up. Highly recommend it.

Thanks! I downloaded the Baritastic app and I like it.

I had surgery 12/18/18. It hasn’t been a piece of cake but it’s gone pretty well I think. I didn’t have any anesthesia issues. So far no nausea no vomit 🤮. Knocking on wood. ❤️❤️ I am still mostly liquids. Or purée in limited quantities of course. I still struggle daily with getting in all my Water and Protein. But so happy the surgery and the waiting is over. ❤️. Happy to be part of the December sleevers!

Hi chris_marie! I was sleeved 12/17/18. I’m on some puréed but mostly soft foods. I started soft foods this week. I went to my first post op support group and it helped a lot. I too had a problem with getting all my Water and Protein. I was told to set my cell phone or Fitbit for every 8 minutes and take a sip. So o tried it last night and it works! Our nutritionist said to keep sipping from when you wake up until you go to bed other than when you are eating. Hope that helps. Good luck to you.

I'm curious about everyone's hunger level. I've been hearing from all my friends who had sleeve that the first time they ate a scrambled egg, it made them feel stuffed. I tried an egg yesterday, and I didn't feel that fullness at all. I wasn't hungry after, but I definitely wasn't full either.

What's been your experience? I know we all can vary so much!

Hi AprilAL. I had my sleeve on December 17th. And I’ve tried soft scrambled egg with cheese. I was fine. Didn’t have the full feeling. I was good. I will say that I can get a little of something and then an hour half later I feel hunger pain and I’ll eat a popsicle or Jell-O and I feel ok again.

  12. Hello. Jean9 My sincere condolences on loss of your Mom. I had my sleeve December 17th. I'm 5'8 weighed 372 when I started the 90 day program to get my Aetna approval. I lost a total of 33lbs. My pre-op weight 339. They couldn't get my nausea and vomiting under control so I wasn't discharged until Dec 23rd. Then I had problems with my main puncture site oozing blood so I had to go back to the surgeon office on 31st. I had to have two stitches. I was weighed at that time. I'm 321 down 18lbs. I can tolerate pureed grilled chicken or mostly I just chew real slow. I still eat Jello, Soup, popsicles. I can also eat soft foods and crackers. Oh and scramble eggs. I do have hunger pains sometimes but I drink Water or sip Protein Drink. I haven't tried the Premier yet. But I have tried Syntrax and those taste good. I'm taking my chewable vitamins and calcium chews. Only vomited once two days ago when I tried a chunky soup don't think I was ready. So I'm sticking to small bites of chicken, popsicles, noodle soup, mash or baked potato etc.
