    December 2018 Sleevers!

Sophie and Psyched: I like New Orleans as well. Be safe and have a great time Sophie! So my vitamin regimen is 2 Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin chews, 2 30mg Bariatric Advantage Iron chews (they both taste like starbursts. I like them) and 2 calcium chews also by Bariatric Advantage. I tried the Celebrate 45mg Complete Vitamin but it tasted like a flintstone vitamin and it didn’t do well on my stomach. So my nutritionist said it was ok for me to get my vitamins like I take them now.

Thanks Sophie! I’m going to look up the Sarah Kent cookbook. I’m down 28lbs. But I’m having problems with my main puncture site healing. It’s a small open hole that I have to pack twice a day. So once this heals I’ll be cleared for exercise. I’m still off from work as well.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Yea I’m glad too. But when I went to my 4 week appointment last week, my surgeon assistant told me usually stall at 3 weeks and again at 6 months. She said don’t panic. Just continue the plan but do something different like add more water or walk an extra 15 mins for example and the weight will start to drop again. Also my surgeon does not want me drinking protein drinks anymore. He would rather you eat the protein. So if I’m struggling that day to get my protein intake then I’ll drink 1 Premier protein or Syntrax.

LoLo how do you like the Pure Protein drinks? And which flavor? I was on their website the other day and they have several flavors to choose from in the can.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Sophie don’t worry about the stall. I was told it’s normal. Just keep getting in your protein and water. My nutritionist told me I should be sipping from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed. Except when 30min before and after a meal. So one of the ladies in my post op support group said she sets her alarm for every 8mins and takes a sip. I’ve been doing that since Monday and it is working. I drink my Premier protein drink and then I eat high protein food like Greek yogurt, turkey, etc. I was taking the Celebrate Complete 45mg but it made me nauseous and I would vomit within 5mins of taking it. So I talk to my nutritionist and I order the bariatric advantage multi vitamin chew and the chewy Iron 30mg. I chew two a day. I also do the bariatric advantage chewy 500mg calcium. Works well for me.

Hey Sophie. I’m in Duval County! We are cold up this way. We are surgery twins 🤗.... I’m 5’7, HW 372, SW 339, CW 319. I’ve only lost 20lbs so far. I’m on soft foods and I was just able to get my water and protein in on Monday. So far so good with that. How are you coming along?

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Wow Darci! I drink from a straw no problem. Can’t chew gum yet. I take in air. I’m 3 weeks out. I’ve lost 20lbs so far. Only had 1 decaf tea and only had 4 sips. What do you do to get in your water and protein? I struggle with that part. But I made it today. 🤗

Wow! I’m afraid to do anything sparkling or with bubbles. My doc and nutritionist are against it. Lol!

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Hi chris_marie! I was sleeved 12/17/18. I’m on some puréed but mostly soft foods. I started soft foods this week. I went to my first post op support group and it helped a lot. I too had a problem with getting all my water and protein. I was told to set my cell phone or Fitbit for every 8 minutes and take a sip. So o tried it last night and it works! Our nutritionist said to keep sipping from when you wake up until you go to bed other than when you are eating. Hope that helps. Good luck to you.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Hello Everyone! Does anyone use an app to track what you eat and drink? If so, which one? I was sleeved on 12/17/18 and I’m only down 18lbs.
  13. Hi AprilAL. I had my sleeve on December 17th. And I’ve tried soft scrambled egg with cheese. I was fine. Didn’t have the full feeling. I was good. I will say that I can get a little of something and then an hour half later I feel hunger pain and I’ll eat a popsicle or Jell-O and I feel ok again.

Who is sick of purees? Some fresh ideas...

Hi Naughty Glitter Goddess! Hope all is well on your end. I had my gastric sleeve surgery December 17th. Can you give me your recipe for the refried beans? I never made them before but I’m willing to try.
  15. Thank you and I wish you well on your journey too. I don't go back to work until January 21st. I'm cool with it. Still a little sore. One day at a time. 😉
  16. Hello. Jean9 My sincere condolences on loss of your Mom. I had my sleeve December 17th. I'm 5'8 weighed 372 when I started the 90 day program to get my Aetna approval. I lost a total of 33lbs. My pre-op weight 339. They couldn't get my nausea and vomiting under control so I wasn't discharged until Dec 23rd. Then I had problems with my main puncture site oozing blood so I had to go back to the surgeon office on 31st. I had to have two stitches. I was weighed at that time. I'm 321 down 18lbs. I can tolerate pureed grilled chicken or mostly I just chew real slow. I still eat Jello, soup, popsicles. I can also eat soft foods and crackers. Oh and scramble eggs. I do have hunger pains sometimes but I drink water or sip protein drink. I haven't tried the Premier yet. But I have tried Syntrax and those taste good. I'm taking my chewable vitamins and calcium chews. Only vomited once two days ago when I tried a chunky soup don't think I was ready. So I'm sticking to small bites of chicken, popsicles, noodle soup, mash or baked potato etc.
