    Ingredients: 1 lb beef 1 - 2 bunches of green onions 1.5 tbsp shaoxing wine 1.5 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tbsp white pepper 1 tbsp chicken powder 2 tbsp cornstarch 1.5 tbsp sesame oil 1 tbsp minced garlic 1/3 cup water 1/3 cup soy sauce or oyster sauce 1/3 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup shaoxing wine slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch to 2 tbsp water) 1. Thinly slice your beef against the grain. It doesn't have to be flank steak. You can use any type of meat and cut. 2. Soak the beef in water for 10-15 minutes. This cleans/pulls the blood out of the beef and also tenderizes it. 3. Mince 2 cloves garlic. 4. Marinade your beef with shaoxing wine, soy sauce, white pepper, chicken powder, cornstarch and sesame oil. Mix. 5. Flash fry or pan fry your beef with very little oil. Your thin strips will cook quickly so keep an eye out. Set aside. 6. Add oil to a hot wok/pan. 7. Add minced garlic. 8. Add water. This will serve as the base of the sauce. 9. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, shaoxing wine, and white pepper. Mix upon adding each seasoning. 10. Add slurry to thicken the sauce. The amount you add is dependent on how thick you'd like the sauce. The ratio to make a slurry is 1 tbsp cornstarch to 2 tbsp water. 11. Let the sauce reduce to your liking. 12. Add the cooked beef or meat of choice. Mix/toss everything. 13. Add the green onion. Mix/toss everything. Don't overcook them if you want them crunchy! Hope you like it! Also, you may have to tweak the wine, sugar and seasonings depending on your liking

    Grilled chicken salad for lunch today. When I stick to eating just the veggies I feel like I can finish the whole thing but once I take a bite or two of chicken that's when I feel full and need to tap out.

    I can relate to this. There was a point where I didn't like myself for being so fat and I sacrificed most of my social life because of how self conscious I was. Being so young at a heavy weight didnt help either.

    Dinner for tonight (this plate is for my bf) I thought the way I served him looked nicer then my sloppy mess. My portion Is without rice and half the size of meat he has. Finished it all within an hour.

    Day 21: I'm most grateful for my mini fridge. I bought it on amazon not that long ago for my office and it has been great for storing my meals and drinks. I have different ingredients in the fridge depending on what my lunches are at work. I hate warm drinks (depending on the drink) so this has been great for storing my homemade juices too.

    I'm definitely more of a salty person, but I'm not crazy for salty snacks like chips, popcorn, etc. I prefer actually meals. As far as sweets go, I prefer ice cream or gelato. Any other dessert can go.

    Today's lunch: Chorizo and onion tostada. Found spicy turkey sausage and thought tostadas would be perfect for them. Added black beans, lettuce, tomato, cotija cheese, light sour cream, and habanero sauce but i forgot my avocado at home Finished it all in the span of 2 1/2 hours.

    Day 19: My car for sure. About two years ago I needed a new car and I began my search with a budget in mind. My dad told me about a car he thought I should get and once I googled it I fell in love. I went to my local dealership knowing it was wayyy over my budget and I bought it anyways. No regrets.

    Day 18: I'm most grateful for my calm demeanor. It takes me so much to get upset or to stress/freak out, even in the most terrible situations. But when I say it takes me a lot ... well I really mean A LOT. My house could be on fire and Id probably be like "wow... no biggie, I'm not hurt and neither is anyone else so its all good" Here's a real life example (story time): When I was in high school I was working at a fast food joint. One night a guy came in with a mask and a gun trying to rob the place. He pointed it right at me and my co worker and everyone else froze. He demanded we open the drawer. I didn't know what to make of this. I wasn't scared just thrown off a bit. Two of my co workers were crying and I asked the robber "is this for real???" because I just couldn't believe someone would come out on a snowy day to rob us (dumb to think, I know). He yelled "YES THIS IS FOR REAL!" and then he jumped over the counter with the gun still pointed and tried to open the cash drawer. I stood there pretty calm wondering how I was going to get out of this. At this point my co workers were fleeing then my manager grabbed me and told me to run, so I did. Id say this trait is also one of my weaknesses. I can be too relaxed thinking everything will be okay which makes me react a little slower to certain situations. It also makes me seem like I don't care about anything (what others have told me) Not sure why I'm like this but I am. If I'm healthy and alive, and so are my loved ones, why should anything stress me out? Well the example I gave above isn't the greatest since I was about to get shot and not be completely healthy, or alive for that matter, but I hope you all know what I mean lol B-Side Question: Does Thanksgiving/Banquets make you nervous now? Nope! I'm looking forward to the holidays and to the food. It hasn't been too hard to stick to my doctors plan.

    Today's lunch: Leftovers from yesterday, chicken and broccoli stir fry. Will probably have a salad for dinner. Ate it all that was in my bowl but it took 2 hours.

    Day 16: Not sure of you would consider them a band but I love the Backstreet Boys! Hearing their music is nostalgic and many years later they are still killing it. Day 17: I’m most grateful for my flexibility. I’m able to come and go as I please and work around my own schedule as long as I finish everything I need to do. Do you get hangry? Not anymore! It’s weird because before surgery if I didn’t eat for a long period of time I would get cranky, now I forget to eat. Yesterday I was so busy that I forgot I needed to eat and I didn’t have anything until 7:30 pm. Also, once I had a meal at that time I took two bites of my food and I was full.
