Just make sure to drink electrolite Water and my fav is body armor super drink. Posicles are fine but remember you had 3 procedures done at once so dont rush yourself.. I would suggest Soup broth and fruit purees. If you havent attempted somewhat solids by monday i would let the dr know just to be sure its ok. Good luck!

Oh and sip sip sip is key! Try different flavor drinks.. Please stay hydrated!

I just had the gastric sleeve done on the 25th and was sent home the next day so out of the hospital almost 72 hours. They also did a hiatal hernia repair and discovered my gallbladder was trashed so that came out too. Thankful it wasn't 3 separate procedures! Still on pain meds though. Feeling rather like a large herd if elephants ran me over but a little better each day. I am not even close to meeting any kind of Fluid intake requirements and certainly haven't even considered Protein. Yesterday I was proud that I upgraded from Water to popsicle. Any thoughts at when I should start to find this worrisome?

So glad it is over...sorry to hear about very rough 72 hours! I never even thought of taking Gas-ex, what a great idea..my surgery is postponed a bit and even if I had had it, I hadn't run across this idea before!

I hear you about the heat, I'm in TX..so I feel ya! Sounds like you are a trooper though to come thru all of that and you are still pointing out positives. I love your attitude. Was thinking about you the other day.

Best wishes on your continued recovery - keep us posted!!

Yes gasex it my saving grace. As soon as it dissolves it relieves everything.. Cant wait for your day to come😊

  4. Hi everyone! The past 72 hrs has been full of ups and downs.. I was sleeved on the 26th and came home friday evening. From the day of surgery i vomitted every day. The last day i vomitted was friday morning.. Sorry if im being too graphic but this was my experience. So far im off the pain meds and i still feel a little woosey. I am drinkning lots of Water and sugar free juices i had dome chicken broth yesterday and pureed fruits. So far so good. I notice my face is slimming a little bit but i think thats from mostly liquids. Im taking sips of shakes here and there as well.. I chew gasex maybe 2xs a day to keep the gas at bay. Im anxious for my energy to come back. Walking 2 blocks in the heat isnt easy so i stay in most of the time.. Good luvck everyone it is worth it but its no joke! Any questions feel free to ask😊

  5. Hello everyone! So i am less than 24 hours away from my surgery and i woke up twice last night full of anxiety and excitement. This is been a lifetime in the making of taking full control of my health. It hasnt been an easy journey ive had people ask me if im sure about my decision, ive heard horror stories and actually been accused of taking the easy way out. Which i think is stupid the easy way would have been Lipo and this is completely different! I cant wait until this part is over and the real journey begins❤ Best wishes and dont quit!

Do you only have to do the pre-op diet for one week? I have to do it for 3 weeks I think. Which of the drinks you're allowed are the easiest to get down?

Its supposed to be 2 weeks but ive been cheating my butt off! But this week im going to stick to it since the surgery is next week..

  7. Hello all

So the last time i posted i was having anxiety about the blood work and quitting smoking. So far i have been smoke free for 3 weeks and I had the pre op testing done on friday. They said the results would be in the same day and I havent heard anything... Well that was friday but I'm going to remain positive and get through this week as calmly as possible. Oh did i mention my surgey is scheduled for next Wednesday the 26th?? Anyway im required to do a liquid diet with popsicles and boiled eggs being the only solids i can eat until surgery.. Wish me luck with that one since boiled eggs give me heart burn😡

  8. Hey everyone.. I have completed all the preoperative exams and was given a tentative surgery date(6/26/19) I am on day 3 since I quit smoking which i had to do but wasnt ready to do and I am having a tough time.. I keep reminding myself the reasons I had to quit and its still hard! Its 2:30 am and I cant sleep and Im irritated😠 Nicotine addiction is a real thing! I just needed to get that off my chest!

  9. So i had my first consultation yesterday and met my surgeon and I am so excited! My insurance doesnt require the wiegh-ins so thats a plus. My surgeon told me i can get all the exams done in one day and would have to pay out of pocket for the nutritionist and psychological exam. Anyone else do this?

  10. Hello and Happy New Year to all! This is all new for me as I have taken the next step in taking care of my body by having gastric sleeve surgey! I just received my letter of consent from my Dr. yesterday and I have my first appointment with my surgeon on Saturday..Im nervous and excited at the same time! Its almost like an outter body experience because I have been thinking about surgery for years! What a way to start a new year huh?! Any advice on what to expect during the pre op process would be great! Thanks in advance guys!
