    Vitamins - Yuck!

The multi chew is so gross! They made me throw up from the amount of gagging it took just to get them down. I switched to a swallowable one but they make me nauseous for a good hour afterwords.. Waiting for my powdered vitamin to come in so I can try that.

    Time off work

My work was the only one aware of what was happening. (I work as an Assistant Manager in a retail store) I was told I would be out for two weeks and the doctor pushed it to four at my 2 week post-op check up because I had a hard time keeping food down and they were worried about me going back to being on my feet 8 hours a day.

    How often to snack???

I was told to have my 3 meals a day and snack 2 times a day once 2 hours after breakfast and once 2 hours after lunch. If I still haven't eaten all of my protein or my calorie goal I can have one at 8pm for bed but most days I find that hard.

    Portion Sizes

I eat a max of 4oz at a time but most of the time I can only get 2 or 3oz. I couldn't imagine getting two poached eggs. I can barely finish one egg most days.

    Anyone else experience this?

I get it. I was told it was because of water intake but even when I get my 64oz a day it still happens.

    Pre-op diet working?

I didn't have any signs that it was working or it didn't. I lost a good amount of weight during it and my doctor told me they wouldn't really know until were in there. If my liver was still too large they would back out of the surgery mid procedure and if it was fine they would proceed which they did proceed so it worked!

Can we eat certain foods post op

There isn't anything you CAN'T eat but there is going to be stuff that your body won't let you eat. I can't do breads and milks. For awhile I couldn't even do chicken but now it's tolerating chicken.

    Does this look infected?

I had one like that and went to the doctor and they said mine wasn't and now it's just left me with a bigger scar then the others. I would still check with your surgeon to be safe.
  11. Walk, walk walk! It helps!!! It was a little less then a week when it finally stopped for me and things started to feel "normal" again.
  12. I've done it a few times. I was told it won't damage anything but it just takes forever for your stomach to drain it because it's still swollen. I was told if I accidentally do it to get up and walk to help move stuff a long.

    Tummy

I could feel it for awhile post-op. Now it's only really cold liquids that I can feel. It's weird.

    Eating nuts after surgery

Just started nuts and I'm almost 2 months post op. I haven't had any problems with them and it's been great.

    Smooth Sailing for Anyone?

I was sleeved 12/20 and have had no complications. The pain is common I wouldn't call it a complication. You just had the majority of your stomach removed you should expect to feel pain. Other then that and some queasiness day 1 I've been fine. I'm back to work with a weight restriction, my incisions healed nicely and I haven't had any problems with my gallbladder (since I still have mine) next month I go for blood work just to check my levels but the doctors don't have any concerns.

    Sleeved 1/5/19 pain and emotional

You need to talk to your doctor about the BM because you should have had some by now and they'll help with the gas pains. Emotions are super common. During the liquid phase I felt the worst because I couldn't get much in and there were points that I just didn't want to drink anything because it was so much work. But it passes .
  19. Super common I went thru it. When I went to the next stage I felt so much better.

    Anxious and nervous

All I can say is walk, walk, walk. I had a lot of nauseous day 1 after surgery but once I was home that went away (the doctors think maybe I was allergic to the pain meds but who knows) I only had pain if I laid in bed because you can't lay on your side or your stomach and prior to surgery laying on my back made me nauseous so I wasn't surprised that laying on my back post op wasn't all that great. I slept on the couch or in a chair for a bout a week and then I was good. Anytime I felt discomfort I got up and walked and it helps A LOT!
  21. That's about the same for me.

    I just can't get warm!

I've been told it's pretty normal. At night I'm FREEZING. I've sweated out the husband and son because I'm so cold I'll turn the heat up and still be bundled up while they're dying from the heat.

    Leave Recovery Time After Surgery

Depends on your job. I'm an assistant manager at a retail store. They told me to take 2 weeks off which I did but ended up being out for almost a month because I was struggling to eat and they were afraid of me passing out at work.
