I know this has to be frustrating....I had to wait for two months to get my fill because my port incision refused to heal...hang in there I did finally get mine and now think I need more...I feel very restricted in the a.m. but by p.m. can eat most anything and I hate that.

My doc tried to do it in the office but just could'nt get it...it did not hurt me at all....I then had it under fluroscopy and it was fine...no pain just a little pressure....nothing to it...don't worry like I did...I was scared and now I know I had no reason to be.

I know exactly what you are talking about....everytime I wash my hair the drain is FULL....oh boy when I brush it it gets really scary!!!! Mine was long and I swear I just cut it off not an hour ago....I think it was breaking because of the lack of nutrients...

Yeah I know how you feel about your friend....mine totally abandoned me and has not spoken to me since I had surgery on 4/28....we had a 20 + year friendship I was brokenhearted but I am pretty much over it now!!! I think in my case it just boiled down to plain old jealousy:angry_smile:.

I would like to know that myself...I see it alot on here but no one ever explains it...

Hi and congrats....We lived in Germany my dad was stationed there..I got my band on 4/28/08 and just had my first fill on 8/28/08 I had lost 38 pounds in that 3 months and my doc really did not want to do a fill but I was eating everything in sight girl!!!! I just insisted he do the fill I was under the impression that it was up to the patient when to get the fill because we know what we eat and know whether or not we feel restricted...I was eating about two cups of food and did not do any damage to the band or pouch ...since I had my fill this past monday oh get ready for this.. I have lost 4 pounds ....I can't eat much of anything but the hunger is still there....I tried to eat a tiny piece of meat last night thought I would die....chewed it up to nothing....everyone says it will get better...because of swelling after the fill...I will try again today.....

I had mine at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson...Dr Gustavo Huerta was my surgeon...the staff is rally good and I got really personal attention since I had my surgery in April.

I know exactly how you feel....I lost my best friend really the only friend I had that I could talk to...we have not spoken to each other since the day I had surgery 4/28/08...I have attempted to contact her but she never returns my calls...I told the woman that works in the office with me and she has told numerous clients that come in from the street that I have had lap band surgery and losing weight...I truly wish she would just shut up!!!! They eat everything under the sun and offer it to me, just yesterday it was CAKE it was hard to turn it down but I did !!! I finally told myself they can all kiss my a** I am in this for me and only me !!!

I smoke my doctor is aware of this and made no mention of band erosion....Someone explain that to me how would that erode the band...unless I am wrong it would be your lungs that are affected...Needless to say I had no problem at all with this!

OMG I am going thru the same thing....I am 2 mos. post op...it is almost well but it is so sore...sometimes it is agonizing..I was putting water proof bandages on there and it seemed to make it worse..

I think after it was submitted it took about a week...I hope it is fast for ya I know the anxiety you are feeling.

My ins. is Cigna and they were great....paid 100 % I did not have to put out one dollar.....I wish you good luck.....but Cigna was good to me Paula

I am having the same problem myself....My doc told me he did not think I would need a fill at 1 month post op.....I think I am gonna have to tell him otherwise.....I though I would determine when I needed a fill !!!!!!!!

Is it cheaper there ??? I just got my EOB from my Ins. Co. and my grand total was 49,898.20 WOW I almost fell over because I did not have to pay a penny...I have Cigna Ins.

I have people like that around me too.....I think I may have even lost my best friend....she has not called or even seen me since my surgery.She was against it from day one.....but I am doing good hang in there it is hard, but I believe whole heartedly it will all be worth it in the end!

I thought about having this "thing" in me but I am getting over that I am 5 days out of surgery and I am feeling really good about it. My weight was out of control no matter what I did....I was 320 pounds 3 weeks before surgery I am 291 today that is 29 pounds...I have not seen the day I could lose 29 pounds in four weeks. This procedure I believe will save me from myself. Go for it!

Oh it is a nerve wracking experience....you will be glad when it is over...It was not at all as bad as what I had pictured in my mind I was really scared and emotional myself. I would do it again in a minute though. Just have faith in your doctor and his staff. Good Luck ,just last Sunday I was in your shoes. I feel good today. You will too just follow what your doctor says.

Sounds like your experience was as good as mine was....I am 5 days out and I am feeling good....I was awfully afraid of being naked and about my boobs also....I guess we are all afraid of about the same things...I am so glad I did it. I hope you are too.

I just got my Lap Band on 4/28/08.....I feel pretty good today I have not even taken an pain medication.I have looked at others on here and everyone looks good.....Congrats I hope I too will have success I have been overweight all my life...I have lost tons of weight only to put it right back on. The Lap Band is gonna save me! I am determined.:crying:

Yeah I was banded on 4/28/08 and today I feel fine,I have not even had any pain meds today.
