  1. You definitely want to feel comfortable with who does your surgery. There are many different ones out there that are good fit for some and not for others. You have to pick one that lines up with how you and him see the process.
It is a lot of homework and research but necessary and worth it in the end. Never go cheap on stuff like this. The one I picked I knew from someone else having surgery with him and I loved his work. When we met up it just clicked and I liked his plan.
Now I met up with other surgeons for consults and did not feel like it was a fit. So it is a process. But don’t try and rush it. Takes time. It’s a lot of money too so you want to make a good decision not rush.
Good luck to you and can’t wait to see updates!

Actually most of us eat pretty much a recommended portion in our maintenance. It just looks small compared with how much we used to eat for a meal before surgery - double, triple or more an appropriate serve. Some meals may be a little less because of what else we’ve eaten during the day & how hungry we feel. You’re only a little way out from surgery & still healing & recovering so yes some days will be harder than others, some foods will upset you more or sit more heavily in your tummy & you are eating much smaller serves. It does get better. You work out your cues, you’re able to eat a greater variety of foods without issue, & your portion sizes will slowly increase to appropriate serving sizes. In time you’ll look back & realise this time, though sometimes frustrating & upsetting, didn’t last all that long & was so worth it.

    All the best.

    Ditto to what Arabesque said.
I’m 5 years Post Sleeve. So speaking from a little experience that I have had.

Like she said you have to adjust to a new way but it’s just a new way. It’s not unsustainable. We all use to eat portions that were way over what we should have and a lot of us got to our heaviest points this way.
It is a bit of a mind-$&@! but you will get use to your new normal and it will become so normal. I know you don’t think so yet but give your mind and body a chance to get use to this big change.
Hang in there. We are all here for you. Some of the people on here have helped me sooo much. A lot of really great info. You will find recipe ideas and which ones work for you and which don’t etc.
BP is a great resource and support system. I wish you the best!

Okay that’s it. Our friendship is over. How can you not like Tomato based Soups? ?? 😱 I love all Soups as you know but my favourite Soup since a child has been Tomato. Tomato with lentils, with white Beans, using fresh, roasted, or tinned tomatoes, … I’d very happily eat A’s minestrone except for the Pasta of course. Mmm now I might make a pastaless minestrone this week (though is it still minestrone without Pasta? ?)

    😁😁😁

Oh yup. Same. I second that!!
    I agree w MS.sss

It was for me today. It's not something I plan to eat regularly after WLS. I read the label. 30g carbs/12g of it is sugar. Wasn't a good choice but so are a lot of other things posted to this thread. LOL

My nutritionist encouraged me to eat carbs pre-op and it was really tough for me to shift from my Keto mentality to 45g of carbs daily. But I lost 22 pounds before WLS in those 3 months. In a few weeks I'm supposed to up my carbs to 60g. I usually sweeten food with Stevia so today was a one off.

Yea that’s true. I have things that I occasionally eat/drink that are sliders or not the best choice. So don’t beat yourself up on it. One of them for me is SB Refreshers!! They are soooo bad. I try not to drink them but once a week if any but they are so good. Esp w our freakin hot weather here in Texas. Today is high of 105. 🔥

  6. I don’t see Cereal as a good option for me since surgery. I’m post sleeve -5 years. You have to be careful with cereals bc alot of brands claim to be “healthy” but they have hidden sugars etc-and tons of carbs w little or no protien in them aside from the milk.
I feel like for me cereal would be more of a slider food.
Like it wouldn’t fill you up. Not a lot of Protein in it.
Also, I’m not a Breakfast person so that’s prob easier for me to say too.
Bc I’m not. My go to is Ratio Coconut Yogurt w fresh blueberries.
Ratio is low in sugar 3, 25g protein and 170 calories, 8 carbs

  7. Those look yummy!!!
I love teriyaki sauce on my wings!!
BWWs was my all time fav. But since we started air frying our wings at home and making them ourselves that is my fav.
Plus they sell the sauces in BWW brand among other brands and flavors too in the grocery store.
My boys and hub all do Honey BBQ and I do old faithful teriyaki. (I don’t do any kind of spicy type food!)
Sooo good. If yall haven’t tried them in the air fryer -you should

While it does look delicious, there is NO way I’m paying $4 for a piece of fruit.

Yea I can see how it sounds expensive but they are big. So you can eat them for breakfast like at least four times for one. So that comes out to $1. So not really expensive when you think about a meal. Even if you paired it w a yogurt.

ok, seriously, so how long do u guys eat your leftovers for?

todays lunch consisted of 1 day old Pasta and 4 day old jerk pork (446 calories for the bowl, including a coffee martini beforehand, not shown)

Mr. said i shouldn't eat the pork cuz it was way too old. i was like, whatever, its delicious, and ate some if it anyway....granted it was a little dried out, but still yum.
