  2. Happy 47th Birthday bangiebb!

  3. Good morning everyone, I was banded 4-28-08 and I was just wondering...has anyone besides myself gotten tired of chewing? My jaws are tired and I think I'm even feeling a slight headache from the constant chewing. If anyone out there is experiencing the same thing, what are you doing for comfort?

    Mumford Bandits---Where's your Port?

I saw a woman who's port was just above the belly button. Her surgeon went through the belly button so she hardly has any visable scars at all. Her surgery was done here in the US. I wish I had known that before my surgery in Monterrey. I sure would have asked my doc if could have done mine that way. That is my only regret so far.
  5. Thank you all very much for explaining. I guess if I ever had one, I'd have known. LOL
  6. Please excuse me if this is a silly question...will someone please tell me what DH represents? I know is has to do with ones husband but what is the "D" for?

    Need a break from LBT

OMG!!!I think Erica crossed the line with her RANT!!! I mean really...I somewhat new here however, because LBT is soooo very interesting, I read a lil of this and a lil of that. Yes, many of the concerns/questions are redundant. So what! Erica, you did more bragging about yourself than anything. I may be exaggerating a tounch. Anywho, in 2 months that I've been on this site and have read threads from most subjects, I've not read anthing that has been so darn HARSH!!! Give me a break. You appear to be angry about something or having a bad day! Take it out somewhere else. For those who are helped by the redundancy or the questions they should have asked their docs and didn't, any link here if for support, I thought? Erica, get over yourself?

    Ouch! Stuck, Stuck, Stuck!

Good morning All, My questions also relates to Advil & Ibruprophen. I heard somewhere that Bandsters should not take them. I have severe cramps for the first two days of my monthly cycle and Tylenol #3 does not do the trick. They only make me drowsy. The Ibruprophen however, knocks them out! Does anyone know whether I'll erode my band by taken approx 800 mg every 6 hrs for two day a month? I'm really concerned about this and fear my periods. BTW... I'm only 45 days pre-op.

    I hate myself!

Lunabean... What a sweet gently response. You're the reason we come here. To be uplifted and empowered. I could hear the Love & Care in your tone for someone who's fallen off the wagon. The tone strenghtens and is a motivator. Thank U!

You know you are a bandster when....

I LOVE you all for these jokes/truths. LMAO and an't tell anyone in the office why...Keep them coming!!!:cursing:
  11. Hi Stef, I too had a BMI of 34.5. My surgury was 4-24-08, I weighed in at 236, 5.9 ft & have lost between 16-20 lbs. If fluctuates. I've not had a fill yet. I do not count calories either however, I exercise some and try and watch what I eat. As I've read all over this site, any weight loss before a fill is a plus. I think you and I should keep reading here and get inspiration from the others.

    Banded April 23 2008

Good afternoon All, I was banded 4-24-08 and the most discomfort I felt was a little soreness as if I'd just started doing sit-ups. I hardly feel any restriction from my surgery however, I know the band must be there because I think I get satisfied sooner than I normally would. I've also been reminded due to the hard hiccups I've experienced a couple of times. My incisions are healing extremely well in my opinion. I'm all to anxious to have my first fill which is scheduled 6-1-08. I constantly think of food however I'm happy to say, I've maintained a 14-16 lbs loss. I began exercising 5-10-08 which was only 16 days post op and I feel great. I was banded in Mexico by Dr. Rumbaut so I frequently reach out to my US coordinator before I make major decisions like filling or exercising too soon. I know she's not a doc, however she's been banded herself for 8 yrs now. I trust her advice.

    I have the hiccups....

You all must forgive me but I'm a new bander and I'm oh so curious as to what PB means. I can't figure it out to save my life. Someone, please spell it out for me. I'm dying to know...I'm sure I'll feel like an idiot once someone tells me.

    Incisions

Regarding incisions, I'll be two wks post op 5-8-08 and my scars are healing extremely well. I've been using Dr. Fred Palmer's skin whitener on all but the largest one has a little scab still. I avoid the cream on that one. I also use cocoa butter. I think just the fact that there're being attending gives them a better appearance.
