  1. 19. So plank and lunges done. It's a gorgeous warm spring day at the moment. I hope I get to go for a walk after work...downpours are on their way so fingers crossed. I know the dogs would love to go too. Happy Friday!

  2. 17. Currently listening to Bread's "Make it with You". An old favourite. Not an album but it's a start. I may put something on when I get home. Oh, and now I'm listening to "If" by bread. At any rate, glad it's a rest day because I was feeling rebellious about crunches and squats. I did get to the gym this morning and do my cardio.

B-side: So much has changed in the past year. I've been working on accomplishing my goals and that's good. Hmmm, the most - my size has changed and my daily routine as now I go to the gym nearly every day. The least, I'm still me.

And now it's "Everything I Own" by Bread so I guess this is my album for the day.

Hi, I’ve never written on here before, but I’m hoping to find some inspiration and motivation from everyone. I have been kinda stuck recently and haven’t been eating very well:/ I’m so disappointed in myself, but I’m using this to keep going. What are y’all’s diets like 4 months out and how do y’all suggest I do this? My doctor never gave me a certain calorie restriction or real meal plan, and I do feel hungry.

Did you have the surgery? At this point (four months out), you should be eating 60-80 grams of Protein, at least 64 oz of Fluid, and fitting in fruits and veggies as you are able. Grains/starches/sugars come last and, for some, might not happen until you get to maintenance.

Here is a website that has a tab for diet and life after surgery: https://www.bariatric-surgery-source.com/gastric-sleeve-vs-bypass.html. You might find it helpful.

  4. 15. Squats and crunches accomplished. Treating myself: Just bought a plane ticket to go see my brother in September. Boy will he be surprised when he sees me! I also got a ticket to see Eddie Izzard next month. B-side - I find weekends harder because I have more free time and one of the ways I used to solve that was with food.

  5. Well, I did just come in from doing a tour of my yard looking for signs of growth. Other than that, outside has simply been the journey between my car and the gym, the market, the office, the groomers, and home. It was raining like the dickens this morning...I do have outside plans for tomorrow which may go along with that decluttering objective. We shall see. Yes, crunches and squats completed. :)

  6. Happy Friday!!

Gym done. Plank done. Lunges done. I'm happy to watch a movie when I get home but not sure what it'll be. How old is old? Maybe "Being There" with Peter Sellars and Shirley MacLaine. Ultimately, it will depend on my mood.

  7. Hello,

Ok, so I have accomplished my lunges and plank for today. I find lunges very awkward. I also made it to the gym this morning. I am well on my way to getting extra Water in. I had my usual workday fluids done by lunch today and should have completed 70 oz before I go home. I average around 64 oz daily. And then when I get home, I can drink even more! Perfect day for this challenge. I've been working on trying to get more fluids in so this is good.

  8. 8. Did my 20 crunches and 20 squats. Also 30 minutes on the treadmill. Ran late this morning so I haven't done more than that as far as exercise. Making a list of my accomplishments is really good for my head right now...I've accomplished more than I can list. How nice is that?!

B-side - Really no opinions about the Vitamins. Currently doing Women's One a Day for my multi. The only chewable I have left right now is my B-12.

  9. 7. It's really hard to do nothing for an entire day! I still have to do my chores. Ok, so I did the plank. Had to break it up into two parts. Turtle, one of my dogs, thought he should put his face in my face while I was doing it. Lunges were also accomplished.

  10. I had the surgery 12/12, the day after GradyCat. I've lost 31 lbs. I'm currently hovering around an old set point weight. Not fun for my head, the darn scale. But I've lost a lot of inches and I've received a lot of compliments. My A1C keeps dropping and my blood pressure keeps lowering. So the goal of improving health is real. I have no regrets and am excited to see where I land ultimately.

  11. April 6

B-Side - It depends on what the activity is and how much I care one way or the other.

Resting today since I did the abs and squats yesterday as far as that daily challenge. I am about to head out to the gym though. I like it on the weekends when I'm not on the clock and don't have to dash to work.

No baking for me today. Never really was a baker but watching the Great British Baking show got me to make scones last fall. I ate one or two and the dogs stole the rest. I'm not going to opt to cook anything else today. I'm on leftovers from going out to dinner last night with friends.

  12. I've been putting my clothes in the local recycling bins...I can't overthink it or I won't get rid of them. For my big t-shirts, I plan to make them into nightshirts. But I'm still wearing them to the gym. I am looking forward to transitioning from winter clothes to lighter clothes. Not sure what I'll keep because by the time winter comes again, I'm hoping I've made quite a bit of progress and won't need the ones I've got now. I haven't bought anything except for some new bras and leggings for the gym most recently. That's not true, I picked up a couple of items while I was on vacation - but won't be able to use them 'til it warms up a bit more.

  13. Day 5: Practicing my deep breathing. I went to the gym and did abs as well as other stuff. I've also done my 15 squats. And then I read that I was to rest today. Oh well. I'll rest tomorrow and not do abs and squats but do my other stuff. I do so enjoy feeling my muscles are there and being used! Happy Friday!!!

  14. Ok, got up and went to gym before work as usual. Today was 30 minutes elliptical, and then hip abducters and adducters machines. I love those so I do extra. Then there's a glute weight machine. I also did my lunges and plank for the day. Any additional exercise is gravy or icing on the cake today!

  15. Ok, so I'm signed up for a course that begins in May that will increase my skills at work but will also be transformative for me. And today, at my follow up, I learned that I can take fibre supplements if I feel the need. They were very pleased with me so that made me feel good and one of my clients complimented me today.

And, I did my crunches and squats for the day! Even made it to the gym between the follow up and my first client at work today so that makes me feel good.

  16. Just a quick update. I did my crunches today. They were pitiful...I don't remember the last time I tried to do any. Lunges done but could be improved. Plank had to be done in two parts and my bum was complaining on that one. Interesting to see how I progress as the month goes on. 😁

  17. 2. Not in the mood for journaling these days. When I look back at my old diaries, I was writing them when I was depressed. Not feeling depressed or lovelorn like I was in my younger days so no current journal. I do write a bit of poetry/prose when there's something I want to remember and it's usually my status on my Facebook page. But I'm with Green Tealael...some form of art would be my choice. Will I or won't I?

B Side. Getting in my Protein went pretty well for me. I use Protein Shakes when I can't have a meal. For example, I was recently travelling and ended up choosing a Protein Drink for lunch. I was stoked they had them at the airport so I could make a healthier choice for myself. And tomorrow, I'll be driving around lunch time (one of those follow up appointments), so I think I'll do a drink then too to keep my protein on track for the day.

  18. I left them on until they fell off. That's what I was told to do. I figured the incisions needed all the time they could get to heal as even when they fell, one or more incisions were not completely sealed shut.
