  1. Only one interest or hobby? Well, I'd like to increase my art, resume my knitting and needlepoint, looking forward to enough warmth to play in the garden....would love to return horseback riding, skiing, hiking, skating...at least I have fond memories of those activities. Working on re-establishing the yoga practice...so many options!

  2. Yes, I find increasing Fluid intake very helpful. Also, try measuring yourself instead of weighing yourself. When the scale isn't moving, I measure myself and those numbers are definitely moving. Our bodies keep having to catch up with what we are doing so we hit "stalls" or plateaus.

  3. 12. Oooh this is hard...this is one of those life long negative thoughts....that I'm not good enough...it's attached to the I'm good enough and I rock...so I need to let the negative part fall away.

    No yoga yesterday...maybe later.

  4. I have always thought of my eyes as my best feature. But glad for my limbs and all they help me do.

B-side: Over the years I have learned a lot. First, I get to feel my feelings...and not try to deny them....then I breathe and think about what is in my power to change in a healthy way. Once that's done, I let it go and let the Universe take charge. I have learned to practice what I preach as best I can. Oh, yes, and I look for the lesson in whatever happened to cause those feelings because maybe whatever it is that I wanted isn't the best thing for me. Breathing and being are the most helpful things for me.

  5. 9. The best advice I can think of to have given myself is "to get moving". One of my favorite things from being post-op is that I go to the gym nearly every day...at least 6 days a week. I feel so much better in my body and my head because of it. Speaking of which...time to go to the gym. :) PS. Didn't get to do any yoga yesterday.

  6. My bad habit is procrastination...I think it would be nice to do things as they arise instead of waiting until the last minute and freaking out. I've been working on it. It's usually related to something I don't want to do.

  7. Whoops late to the party.

    1. Today is 3 months post op and I'm at 245. Goal is to be in the 230s by the end of month.

    2. Keep working the program which includes no junk food.

    3. Well, I love yoga and went to my first class post surgery on Sunday. It was an introduction to Yin so not a lot of poses but the ones I remember were doing cat and cow, sphinx, child's pose, pigeon/swan, and some others. I'm hoping to start my home practice with videos and make it a habit for my evenings.

    4. 3 things about myself - I'm funny, friendly, and I smile a lot; 3 things for an ideal morning - waking up rested, time with my dogs, plenty of time at the gym. Today I'm grateful for sunshine. Happy memory from childhood - climbing trees with my siblings. I have great friends and I feel that they see the real me - one I've known for more than 40 years. I'll have to check in later about what I might've done better today.

I think I'm caught up for now.

  8. I go to the gym nearly every day. Typically, I only have 45 minutes for it so I do 30 minutes of cardio and then 15 minutes of weights....not the same weights every day. I rotate through arms and legs and back. I don't know if it helps with weight loss but it helps with the inches and I feel awesome because I got to move.

  9. I was full liquids for 2 weeks and then they graduated us to "soft" foods but no raw veggies. We could start trying raw veggies at 6 weeks. Basically, I chew everything until it is mush before swallowing. One lady at my last nutrition group shared that she'd been using Gerbers as part of her "soft" routine.

  10. I have Ceilidh who will be 12 this summer. She's a roly poly cat and thinks she needs to be shaped like a football. Then there's Haggis who is feisty and adventurous. She'll be 11. Then there are my two puppy loves, Peaches (10) and Turtle (3). All of them were rescues and are my reason for getting up in the morning.
