  1. Hey darling thank you!! Yeah the first few weeks are tough. All in all I have been pretty much just eating like sugar free pudding or jello or an egg here and there but even that goes down very tough. Low fat yogurts and soups. This really is a life changing experience without a doubt. I never imagined someone like me would struggle with eating 😂. I just want time to fly by so I can start a "normal" dietary regime and start going to the gym. But for now just soft puree protein foods and walking. I am stoked though because I have so far lost 16 pounds in 3 weeks! I have much more to go but its all just a work in progress 🤗🤗
  2. Hi! I am feeling much better 1 week post op. I would say the pain was pretty much bareable 4 days later. I was on morphine the first day and a half then they gave me percocets. My nurse also before hand had called in Hydrocodone for me even before the surgery. Luckily 1 week later Im feeling much more self sufficient. If I get the aches here and there I take the liquid tylenol like you do.I am happy you made it through the surgery and all is well. I just cant wait for these pounds to keep dropping off woooo! 🤗🤗
  3. Hey everyone I had my gastric bypass surgery Tuesday December 18th. I survived and everything went well woot woot! I got discharged today and I am finally home. They had me on morphine at the hospital via pca pump. Then they eventually started giving me percocets. I am not going to lie when the effects of the meds wear off I am miserable and I only have 2 days worth of hydrocodone. How did you guys deal with the pain afterwards? I am not looking forward to my pain medication running out 😣😣
  4. I had a very similiar experience. I just remember a lot of people going in and out asking me questions and viewing my medical history over and over. Then I went into the operating room with one of those gowns with the back open. Layed on the surgery table with the mask put on my face then boom! Next thing I know I woke up in recovery in severe pain haha. This was my first surgery ever as well. I have never even been hospitalized for anything. I just want these next few days to go by as quickly as possible so I can feel "normal" again ☺
  5. Thanks doll that is what I will try to do. I hope it subsides quickly like you said 😣😣
  6. Thank you so much. Yes today and tomorrow I believe the pain will continue. I just really hope it does not take any longer then that. I was given Zofran as well along with morphine day 1 and 2 and percocet on day three. But I am still in so much pain once it wears off. And this is under the circumstances of being sent home with hydrocodone for every 6 hours 😣😣
  7. Hi! I was actually wondering how your surgery had went. Glad everything turned out well!! 🤗
  8. Hi everyone I know I have been posting a lot on here lol. I am jist auper nervous. I have never had any sort of surgery ever in my life not even a minor one. Tomorrow I will be having gastric bypass. What was surgery day like for you? Any tips on how to calm my anxiety? 😥😥
  9. Thank you so much for your whole experience! I survived and everything went well surgery wise and all my tests and vitals were good afterwards. It is now this pain and discomfort I have to deal with afterwards that is bothering me 😣😣
  10. Haha your hilarious! Thank you for your thorough experience it sure puts my mind at ease for tomorrow. At 72 years old I sincerely am so proud of you for going through this especially after having other surgeries. Its never too late to get your life back 👍👍👍
  11. Nice! I loved how you were immediately self sufficient! Thanks for sharing your experience with me. Puts me at a lot more ease. Hopefully my anesthesiologist team wont be hot though. No need for high blood pressure haha 🤣🤣

    Surgery and Divorce - Advice!?

I am so sorry to hear that. I know you have probably heard this already but you deserve better! Marriage is for better and for worse. He clearly just was not in the time frame for a marriage anymore. Dont let yourself think it was you. People like that do not ever end up happy. Show everyone including him that you are the new happier and stronger you!! Kill it with your results and progress. I know the hunger sucks but it will be worth it in the long run. Try going out with friends. Or have someone over. Anything to get your mind off food. I must say it has sure helped me out these rough few weeks.
  14. Hey everyone I am having my gastric bypass surgery on Tuesday December 18th and I have been on a 2 week Medi Fast shake liquid diet. I know the purpose of all this is to shrink my liver. What kind of diets did you have pre-op? I know I only have 2 days left but I physically can not have another shake. I feel like I am going to throw up. I already lost like 10 pounds on this diet. I would rather have like clear broth my last 2 days these shakes are making me sick 😝😝 Starting weight- 304 Current weight-287 🤗
  15. Congratulations!!! Thats truely amazing 🤗🤗
  16. Hi everyone in a couple days on Tuesday December 18th 2018 I will be having gastric bypass surgery. I am quite emotional and scared yet very happy that I am finally taking this step towards my weight-loss Journey. I have been overweight for most of my life and my weight has kept me from living my life and doing a lot of things that I have wanted to do. My obesity peaked after by 21st birthday. Which is when I hit the two hundreds. But as long as I can remember I have never been a skinny child. It is just so emotional for me to finally take the most drastic and gigantic step towards losing weight which is the gastric bypass surgery. A part of me is so happy and so thrilled to start this new chapter of my life. But yet the other part of me is so emotional how do you all feel?
  17. Yes I was apprehensive at first too before I officially got my date. But once I got my date and passed all my pre-surgery testing and started my liquid diet it all became so real to me like this is it! Its so cool we are going in the same day. I actually quit my job like 2 months ago which I had planned on doing anyway so I luckily have been able to focus more on my days leading up to surgery. I hope it works out for the both of us so we can start this happy and hopefully healthier journey! 🤗
  18. Wow! I guess everyone has different outcomes after a major procedure like this. I am sure we have all had our ups and downs and will have our ups and downs when it comes to pre-op patients like myself. I hope in the end you can look back and laugh at all the negatives and flourish with the positives of your outcome with the surgery. 110 pounds wow that is fantastic and inspirational! I hope I can return to you with the same results down the line someday!! 🤗🤗
  19. I am so glad to hear that everything has went so well for you. It is truely motivating and so encouraging to hear about the positives of your journey. Thank you!! 🤗🤗
  20. I hope I feel as good as you do in the post op following days especially once the weight starts coming off. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words I really do need it! 🤗
  21. I sometimes wish I had done it sooner so I could of enjoyed my early 20's more. I always felt trapped and insecure. But better late then never right?! I am trying to occupy myself as well since I also am still coping with my liquid diet as well leading up to the surgery. Thank you for your kind words once again and good luck on Monday my prayers will be with you!! 🤗

This preop diet is killing me

Hey hun I am on day 10 of my 2 week only Medifast protein shakes diet. I have 4 more days to go and I am starving as well! Atleast you are allowed the veggies and some meat. I am not allowed even any of that! I cheated pretty badly yesterday but I am back on track today. My gastric bypass is scheduled the day before yours on the 18th. All I can say is keep busy as much as you can and try drink alot of water and have some decaf tea or decaf coffee to try and curb the hunger pains. I also have been sucking on ice and using crystal light flavored water and chugging it to ignore the hunger.I honestly also just flick on my 600 pound life everytime I feel like eating something and reminding myself of how I got to 300 pounds in the first place and never want to look back. Good luck on your surgery on Wednesday and keep us posted!!
  23. Hi everyone I am currently 26 years old and I am due to have gastric bypass surgery on Tuesday December 18th. I have been told by my nutritionist to go on a two-week pre-operation diet only consisting of Medi fast protein shakes. I was very strict on the diet until tonight I completely broke down and had a 12 inch italian bread with scrambled eggs in it. I feel completely guilty. But I was starving due to the fact that I have not had any solid foods since December 4th. I was feeling really emotional/irritable and overall starving. I started my weight-loss Journey at 304lbs. Today I weigh 290. During my 6 months of nutritional monitoring I was not exactly doing my best I did not lose much weight because I was not consistent .But just on the shake diet that I have been on I have lost a total weight of 7 pounds. I feel so quilty like I ruined my whole diet. I know the whole point of this is to shrink our liver size which mine was 19cm which is over the normal by like 3cm from what I have read. Have any of you screwed up like this before? And do you think me being very strict for the remainder of the 5 days will do me any good after I cheated horribly tonight 😟

Pre-op all protein shake diet 2 weeks

Wow it amazes me how it differs so much from surgeon to surgeon. And yes Ed I completely agree this last week and last days in general are just full of uncertainity. 🤔
