  1. I used to get that. Really bad. Never thought of it the way you described it but yes, it's a sort of food coma. Come to think of it, I'm still getting it, but not as hard as before, like a crash, more of a wave. I nap every day after lunch. Like you said, even if I eat something healthy.
  2. What's a ring fit? Like a ring doorbell? Video fitness?
  3. My nutrition team and surgeon said the same thing. DON'T COUNT CALORIES AND STAY OFF THE SCALE.
  4. Welcome to the bariatric community. Feel free to browse around the forums and threads and you'll find lots of helpful information and advice. Your current situation is very specific. Be sure to ask lots of questions. I had the sleeve and I have regular daily healthy bowel movements.
  5. Sounds pretty normal for just a week post-op. Remember, they had a tube down your throat during surgery. You're still healing. Eat slowly, allowing less air to formulate. Sip, sip, sip your water all day long.
  6. Welcome to our bariatric community. Take some time to search through the threads and forums and you'll find answers and advice for just about anything and everything that could ever come up for you. Good luck on your WLS journey.
  7. I don't remember the incision sites ever bothering me. I sleep on my side.
  8. Hmmm, I don't remember feeling that well. When I feel "foggy" in the mornings now it's just because I'm old. LOL! ?
  9. I take chocolate flavored Vitamin D.
  10. It's only been 4 days. Give it a chance. It takes time. It's not a miracle surgery where all the fat disappears overnight magically and there's no pain or weakness. Your body needs time to heal. It's been through a major trauma.
  11. What's different that you are eating or drinking in the morning from what you are eating or drinking at night? I'd say have the same thing you had for breakfast again for dinner since it seems to be staying down.
  12. Welcome to our bariatric community. You'll find a lot of helpful information about what to expect before, during, and after surgery in the forums and threads. Feel free to browse around and read and you'll learn a lot to be better prepared for your surgery. Good luck on your WLS journey.
  13. Like everybody else said, a year is usually the benchmark and as you as closer to goal.
  14. I was taking the GNC soft chews but just got some here from this site, I think they're called "Celebrity" maybe and they're pretty good. I don't like the idea of taking so many pills, so I like the soft chews, plus they're like having a treat.
  15. Sounds like you've got a lot of good soft/pureed vegetarian ideas there. Congratulations on your WLS and good luck on your journey.
  16. Thanks for sharing a photo so I could understand what a Tummy Tuck is and how the scar goes.
  17. That's good that it's given you more self-confidence and ability to do more things independently.
  18. I've only been on here 3 years. I never remember there being a "chat" feature.
  19. My guess would be hormone issues post-WLS.
  20. Welcome to our bariatric community. Congratulations on having your VSG and good luck on your WLS journey.
  21. I stuck with protein shakes for breakfast and still do them. They're easy and tasty. You could do some middle-of-the-road foods like tuna salad, cottage cheese, maybe some beef stew. Do you like to cook? I'm more of a ready-made kind of girl.
  22. It's nearly impossible to stretch your stomach out according to my surgeon. Do don't worry about that. Don't drink with meals and watch your portion sizes and you'll be fine.
  23. That's very nice of you. I hope your protein powder goes to a good home.
  24. I found this on the internet, does it help? General recommendations suggest to eat 40-65% of your calories from carbs. If you apply this to the bariatric population that consumes about 1000 calories a day then the carbs would be about 100 g carb/day at the low end. Many bariatric centers suggest sticking to 75-100 g carbs per day in the maintenance phase.
  25. I haven't tried the patches, but one of my doctors, not my bariatric surgeon, but maybe my primary care doctor said she wasn't fond of them/they didn't work. I don't know. I take soft chews and they work just fine and I've had no absorption problems.
