How often do you have Post-Op appointments?
GradyCat replied to apiane's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw the surgeon at 3 weeks, 3 months, and I'll see her again at 9 months. I saw the nutritionist at 3 months. -
All you can do is go back to the basics.
-
I use GNC Lean Shakes (pre-made). They're lactose-free and taste great.
-
No, I haven't had that problem. I haven't had dry mouth or any decrease in saliva.

The journey continues...
GradyCat replied to CelfLove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope you're able to quit smoking permanently. You'll be so much healthier. -
That's GREAT! You may have found a new job or hobby that you're passionate about. Way to go.

WLS Brings Me Peace Of Mind
GradyCat replied to Nomanativ's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Very happy for you. Yes, it does make a difference. I'm finally hearing positive comments about my body instead of the negative ones. -
Haven't had a yeast infection in years, thankfully, they are a pain. So sorry you're going through this. I'm just five and half months post-op and haven't had any trouble. I did the sleeve.

Everybody's weight loss is different because there are so many factors including how much you weighed to begin with, your age, and your gender. It varies a lot. Just follow the program and it'll be fine.

Maybe an allergy medication might help you better with those sinus headaches.

I don't have that "waddle" anymore now that I've lost some weight and I use firming lotion on it every night so that hopefully I won't get the wrinkly sharpei neck. I guess I'll wear scarves or turtlenecks if it bothers me. 🙂

So sorry to hear that. My husband and brother are both diabetic and it's hard on your system. My husband takes 4 medications and my brother is on Insulin. Take care.

What was your comorbidity(s)?
GradyCat replied to Goal_Digger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a 40 BMI, so I was approved anyway, but my comorbidities were Obstructive Sleep Apnea and GERD -
When did your weight loss slow down?
GradyCat replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Mine started slowing down at 3 months. -
Why are you regretting it? Pain? Lack of food? You're only 5 days out, it's a marathon, not a sprint. Give it some time. It gets better. I don't have any regrets and I'm 5.5 months post-op.

What calorie level are you at? What are you noticing when tracking your food? Are you writing down every single bite that goes into your mouth? Are you still getting in your 64 oz of water each day? Are you still focusing on protein? Do you get any exercise?

Idk about my surgeon
GradyCat replied to natalibena92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I had liquids for 2-3 weeks, then soft foods for two weeks, then solids. But each surgeon is different. -
OMG! I'm so happy I could dance down the street naked! I FINALLY made it to Onederland today, 5 months post-op sleeve. I've been stuck in a stall for five weeks, teasing me at 202 and so close but so stuck and I thought I was never going to lose another ounce for a minute or two. But now I'm finally a LOSER! Yay! So excited! Now I feel like the scale will keep moving and it can go down to meet my goal. So glad to be in the 100's again!

I've been afraid to try one yet. I'm 5.5 months post-op. I just have the feeling my stomach will reject it.

Questions about stalls! New here!
GradyCat replied to ADerryberry's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Stalls are a normal, although discouraging, part of the process. -
1 year post-op starting to gain weight
GradyCat replied to Nomanativ's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
First, congratulations on the 100 pound weight loss. Now you know what to do. Go back to weighing and measuring and tracking everything you eat and stick with protein. -
What will satisfy my head hunger?!
GradyCat replied to Peachgodd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You have to distract yourself. Watch TV, do a puzzle, get up and do some exercise, anything to stop thinking about food. -
