That's a pretty low BMI. I didn't realize high cholesterol was a comorbidity factor. I have that too. Good luck!

10 years out and Almost back to pre-op weight
GradyCat replied to nursinggal's topic in Rants & Raves
You probably can just go back to the basics of weighing and measuring things, cutting calories, focusing on protein, and getting in your water and you'll start losing again. -
Walking is the simplest form of exercise, maybe you can get up and walk a little.
-
So sorry to hear you're going through this.
-
I started out with cottage cheese, soup, and scrambled eggs.

I've never smoked, but I heard the surgeon talking about how important it is to stop smoking in order to have WLS, so I assume it's a big deal. Please try to quit smoking and good luck with your WLS journey.

CPAP Compliance- possibly switch Surgeons
GradyCat replied to Midnightsun's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) before getting sleeved and I used a full face mask and it wasn't difficult to wear. Now I don't have Sleep Apnea anymore and don't have to use a CPAP -
Weight gain. Healthy snacks needed
GradyCat replied to goldenbarbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried Protein Snack Cakes? They're GREAT! And Protein chips? They're healthier alternatives to snacks and they ensure you get your protein in. -

GradyCat replied to llfonseca's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Looking good! -
That's a great feeling. I will probably have to get mine sized smaller once I reach my goal weight, a year out from now.

What medical issues have you overcome since WLS?
GradyCat replied to Jemma23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
5 months post-op sleeve and I no longer have Sleep Apnea, I don't take high blood pressure medication anymore, and I no longer have GERD or Acid Reflux. -

GradyCat replied to ohjuly7878's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope it goes away for you soon and you find out what it is. -
Depending on where you live, it could be the weather. I find heat and humidity draining and summer is here.

Post-Op Food Consumption/'Stuck' feeling
GradyCat replied to Lost&Found's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I only get that feeling when I eat too fast or eat something doughy like bread or a tortilla. -

GradyCat replied to KimB7811's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been bad about keeping regular track with photos, but here's one of the few I have taken showing me pre-surgery and 5 months post-op VSG. -
Awwww, hang in there. Sending healing thoughts your way.🧚♀️

Mine aren't firming up no matter how many arm exercises I do, so I'm just choosing to live with them. I like bats. 🙂

I hope you can enjoy the beach and not worry about what you look like. You probably look just fine. And you're there for your enjoyment, not for everyone else to look at and judge. Try not to worry about what other people think.

I haven't been to my PCP since having the sleeve, so they haven't been tested. Good to learn this as I will have her test them next time I see her.

Must haves for right after surgery
GradyCat replied to shellyk018's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have any trouble with BM's, so I didn't need any Miralax or anything. I was grateful for sugar free popsicles, Gatorade Zero, Crystal Light, Diet Snapple Peach Iced Tea, and sugar-free pudding. -
6 consecutive months with PCP
GradyCat replied to Danielleh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't end up having to do it, I changed insurance before the surgery, but they did tell me it was very strict and that you must visit your doctor once each calendar month or it starts all over again; it has to be six consecutive months and not off by a day.
