    Consumption

You can only eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup at a time for a while.
  2. Why on earth would you want to eat ice cream on a diet? Bad idea.
  3. I was back to normal with energy and everything after 2 weeks. I had no pain whatsoever. No regrets.

    protein shake

I try to make it last 30 minutes

    Calories

    I'm sometimes at 650, sometimes at 900.
  6. I know how you feel. I'm 50 pounds down but I feel bigger now than when I started because I didn't realize how big I was when I had surgery. I just couldn't see it. I was in denial. Now it's right in my face and I see every pound and inch of it.

    Purées egg salad?

I don't see why not. Enjoy!
  8. You have to be able to do this pre-op or you won't be able to do this post-op. The surgery is just a tool. The rest is up to you.

    slow loss?

    That's encouraging to hear

    slow loss?

Yep, I'm six months post-op and only have lost 35 pounds and I'm following the program, eating right, exercising, protein, and water.

    Test before surgery

I had to do an h pylori test. I had already had test results from an endoscopy a few years ago. I did a psych eval. I had to get clearances from my PCP, cardiologist, and pulmonologist.
  12. Are you drinking enough? Dehydration can cause headaches.

    Understanding the stall

I don't get it either. I'm eating the right number of calories, exercising, getting in protein, drinking water and nothing's happening.

Good luck on your WLS Journey

    Clothing

Oh that's too funny! 🙂 I understand, though, because it's fun buying new "cute" clothes in smaller sizes. Those Kohl's flyers keep tempting me too. LOL!

    Feeling "weepy" & sad

I am six months post-op and have clinical depression. I went through a small "cycle" of depression about a month ago with no apparent trigger, although it could have been surgery-hormone-related, but it's cleared up now. Hang in there.

    Legs....

I hear ya. Even when I'm the right size, my thighs are disproportionately large and I wish there was a way to just get rid of some of the excess leg area. I've even thought of "cool sculpting" but i can't afford it.

    How many carbs?

I don't know why it would have so many carbs, but it sounds like a lot. We're supposed to stay under 40 carbs a day total, right? Maybe keep looking.

    Pre-OP Diet

Stick to it. It's there for a reason. It's important to follow the program to the letter. Drink a variety or fluids to keep you interested. Sugar-free popsicles are a lifesaver.

    Adult acne

Hmmmm, that's interesting. I'm six months post-op sleeve and am almost identical to you (54 years old, surgical menopause/hysterectomy at 30) and I've lost 50 pounds, but I haven't had the acne issue or felt hormonal yet. Hang in there.
  21. Sounds like you're doing very well, Keep up the good work. Good luck on your WLS journey.

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

I'm officially a sophomore, 6 months to the day that I had the sleeve done. Been stuck in stalls for the past two months. Just can't seem to move that scale. But I'm hanging in there, getting my water, exercising, eating 800 calories, focusing on protein. Doing all the right things, just waiting for results. Hoping I'm not "done" and already at maintenance. It's too soon! Hoping it's just a stall. I've got 50 more pounds I want to lose. Discouraged but hopeful at the same time.

    Need advice

It has to be a balance. Aren't you happy with where you are? A good combination of eating right and exercise is key.
