    Worried

It's still a marathon, not a sprint, so while you'll see good weight loss in the first couple of weeks rather rapidly and maybe see some body changes or clothes sizes change, remember that the surgery itself is not an overnight fix and it's going to take time to get to your goal.
  2. Before my surgery I too had made sure I had plenty of liquid and pureed food available. I also read everything in my binder over and over. In my overnight bag I packed lotion and lip balm and those are the only things I ended up needing or using. I never changed into my own pajamas and I never felt like getting on my smartphone or reading or anything. Good luck on your upcoming surgery, sounds like you're ready!

    Weight issues

I weighed this morning and have not lost anything in 2 weeks. I'm 5 weeks post-op. I'm assuming it's normal because of the transition from liquids to foods and just the continuing healing process of the stomach trying to figure out what's happened to it. I am going to the restroom fine everyday.

    Insurance Inquiries

No, it won't hurt anything at all. They're just checking for limitations, if 6 mos. of weight loss management is required before surgery, deductibles, and such. All okay.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

I am a month-post op, well 5 weeks probably and noticed that when I transitioned from fluids to soft foods that I was hungry every two hours. I can't each much at a time but I can eat often. I'm getting about 900 calories/day. No trouble getting in a variety of liquids including Gatorade Zero, decaf diet peach tea, sugar-free flavored water, etc. I have been to the gym every day so far this year in 2019 doing 30 minutes of cardio and strength-training.

    Sadness

Sorry you're feeling down. I would like quicker results too but I know it's just not humanly possible. Just know that you're doing the best you can and that you'll get the results you want within 18 months. Does that help? Hang in there.

    Vitamin patches

I asked my surgeon about these at my 3-week post-op visit and she advised against them and told me to stick with the regular chewable soft chew vitamins. Oh, I had gastric sleeve if that makes any difference.
  9. Yes, I did the Ideal Protein diet two years ago. They taste okay, but I don't like them now. I prefer the premade GNC Lean Shakes. The Ideal Protein puddings taste good, but you have to eat them the same day you make them or they go skunky. They're also a little gritty.

Need breakfast ideas - what are you eating for bf?

I just drink a chocolate GNC Lean Shake protein shake each morning, but I did buy some Jimmy Dean Frittata breakfast sandwiches that are sausage patties with eggs as the "bun" that I'm going to try for lunch or dinner soon. They're high in protein.

    ❤Summer Body Routines❤

So far I've been to the gym every day this year in 2019 (all 13 days, haha) but my goal is to work out at least 4 days per week. I do 30 minutes of cardio and 10-15 minutes of strength training each session, but I want to eventually ramp up and work out harder/faster/longer, but I'm only one month post-op so I'm still healing and don't want to push it yet.

    Pain on my scar

I'm only a month post-op and so far no pain, no problems

    Rando Pouch Question - RNY

My guess is that the pouch IS the new stomach. Oh wait, I'm thinking of gastric sleeve where the new "pouch" is the new stomach but you might be talking about Gastric Bypass where the pouch is in addition to the old stomach. Good question. I had gastric sleeve a month ago and I'm having acid reflux whenever I lay down.
  14. I just had the gastric sleeve a month ago. Like everyone else has said my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I didn't have any complications whatsoever from the surgery and am healing just fine. I've lost 16 pounds in a month and 15" overall, so that's a good start.

Time it takes to eat food

I'm gurgling too and taking in lots of air I think when I eat, so I must be eating too fast as well. It's hard to slow down, especially when something doesn't involve a lot of chewing.

Two questions - 4days post op

It took me a week to get back to a regular sleep schedule after not being able to sleep in the hospital, so I was up in the middle of the night walking around, but I would think that as long as you walked when you're up during the day and didn't sit around too much, you're fine. My stomach bloating went down in about a week but it still gurgles all the time, especially when I eat or drink there seems to be a lot of air getting in there.
  17. I tried weighing once a week and even had my husband hide the scale from me until Monday mornings, but ultimately I ended up weighing every day. The first three weeks post-op went GREAT on the scale, but the last two weeks, since starting eating food other than liquids, I haven't lost an ounce and it's killing me, but I know to just be patient and that I'm not doing anything wrong or eating too much, it's just my body adjusting to food with my new stomach

    Psych follow up

I was cleared after my initial appointment meeting with therapist, dietitian, surgeon, etc. so I don't have any advice for you. Did you do your anxiety homework? Are you taking any anxiety meds? Good luck!

    50 and Up Sleevers

I'm 53 and just had gastric sleeve done a month ago. I'm already down 16 pounds and 15 inches, so I'm happy with that progress and know it'll be a full year before I achieve my final goal of 100 pounds.

    50+

I'm 53 and I just had gastric sleeve surgery a month ago. It's never too late to get healthy.
  21. I can see it in my face already at one month post-op and I'm already down a clothing size even though I'm only down 16 lbs on the scale.

    Pain in Diaphram

I have a slight pain too that kind of rolls, but like you said it only lasts a couple of seconds and is gone. I'm assuming it's air when I drink or eat getting down into my stomach. I'm 4 weeks post-op and I'm still getting it.
  23. GradyCat

    It was NOT gas pain.

So sorry to hear this. Get well soon!

    Swallowing Pills

As soon as I got home from the hospital, Day #3 post-op. Haven't had any trouble with them.

    A little TMI

Sorry about your situation. Luckily I've been going very regularly without any problems. Have you tried a stool softener or some Miralax?
