Never thought about naming my stomach. Ha! Like naming your car, huh? I'll have to give this some thought. We could get really creative with it.

I had GERD and had sleeve surgery 4 months ago. Now I don't have GERD anymore. Hooray!

Portion Sizes @ Restaurants
GradyCat replied to bluehat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had Beef O'Brady's tell me I couldn't order off the kids menu. Usually my husband and I split something, like you and your mom did, and nobody's been rude about it and we haven't had any problems -
I take them to our church clothing drive or the local St. Vincent de Paul thrift store.

I can only think of a sports bra, one that doesn't much your boobs together like a uniboob. I have the same problem you do, they're still decently large, but sagging with gravity and in my case, age. I think I got a decent one at Lane Bryant. But of course the problem with sports bras is they make you sweat more and if you're going somewhere tropical you don't want to sweat. Sorry I don't know anything about bralettes.

How soon post surgery did you have a BM?
GradyCat replied to Briswife15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had regular, albeit very small, bowel movements starting the day I got home from the hospital, 2 days post-op. -
Hooray, it's over, now on to the next step.
-
Hang in there and take care. It's no fun getting teeth pulled. It's okay to cry, then buck up and you'll be okay.
-
Oh yes, "the foamies" are normal. It's your body rejecting what you're putting in it and dealing with digestive acids and mucus. Nothing to worry about. The nausea will get better in a day.

I tried a new shake recently, not realizing it had lactose in it, and I got bloated and gassy. I guess I'm lactose intolerant. Like others have already said, it could be the Glucerna shakes.

Has anyone experienced leakage after surgery?
GradyCat replied to cristobal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 months out and I never leaked or got infection. Try not to worry about it so much and take care. -
Maybe the elastic bands with stretches and bending.

What meds can I take post op?!
GradyCat replied to jazzyj13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope, no Ibuprofen or NSAIDS. Just Tylenol or Acetominophen. -
Everybody's weight loss is going to be different depending on their starting weight, whether they're male or female, etc. I lost 7 pounds the first week.
-
Mine just eventually disappeared on their own . . . I wouldn't pick them if I were you. Let them run their natural course.
-
I just did this two weeks ago and I only had to do it one night. And . . . results are in . . . I no longer have Sleep Apnea!
-
I think it's more likely to get dumping syndrome with the bypass, but you can certainly get it with the sleeve too. Did you have something with sugar in it? Hope it doesn't happen again.
-
Congrats on your approval. My out of pocket was only $600 and I had to pay it all on the day of surgery.
-
It's tough, for sure, but then again they're not the ones going through the process, so they can't possibly understand. Hang in there.
-
I'm glad you're feeling better. Just hang in there, it's an emotional and physical rollercoaster at first but it gets better and better each day.
-
I think it would be easier prior to get used to what to expect after and do it slowly to avoid withdrawals. I practiced pre-op on how to eat post-op
-
I'm using firming cream and going to the gym to keep things toned so the excess skin won't be so bad when I reach goal in 50 more pounds (100 pounds total)
-
It's still really soon post-op, so give your body some time to adjust. Are you eating enough protein? Drinking enough? Whenever you feel hungry, drink something until it's time for your next meal.
-
It's not painful, just a feeling in my upper stomach like I'm full and know that I shouldn't eat any more. It's a comfortable feeling telling me when to stop.

I wasn't sure either so I just played around with the site and found it here: https://www.bariatricpal.com/surgeons/ My surgeon isn't listed in there, but I might see if I can do a review of her and add her. She was GREAT!
