Plan your menu ahead of time, snacks and meals and everything. Maybe even do a week or two of liquid diet like you did just post-op to reset things.

I don't have Hashimotos specifically, but I do have hypothyroidism and menopause (I'm 54) so I can relate to your struggles with weight loss. Good job on starting your pre-op diet early; it'll help you get used to how to eat after surgery. I've done fine with the sleeve, I'm 4 months post-op and have lost 35 pounds and have another 50 to go.

Post Op Weight Loss
GradyCat replied to MSMITCHELL43's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can't compare pounds to pounds given everyone starts at a different weight, age, gender, all sort of things. With sleeve you're supposed to lose 30% of your excess weight in 3 months, 50% of your excess weight in 6 months, and 70% of your excess weight in 12 months. I'm at 4 months and I've lost 35% of my excess weight -
I told my surgeon about it, I'm 4 months post-op, and she said to increase my salt intake. I also quit taking my high blood pressure pill because it was a teeny tiny dose anyway and I think the weight I've already lost has resolved the HBP.

9 Days Post-Op Pouch Cramping After Vomiting

I would try some Pepto and then be careful what you eat and drink going forward. -
Gastric sleeve, heavy lifting, calorie intake and over-training.

Sounds like you're in an unusual, but happy position for you. Keep up the good work! -
You wouldn't be able to lift more than 10 pounds for six weeks post-op. Sometimes you might get lightheaded but with increased salt intake you'll fix that. You could to back to work within two weeks but you'll be tired.

You should be in the range of 600-800 calories/day

Chili might be a little spicy for you right now and I still can't eat a tortilla four months post-op because it's doughy. -
How To Handle Haters
GradyCat replied to AshleyDosie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I handled the haters by not telling anyone about my surgery. It was a personal decision for my own health and I didn't want to hear their negative unsupportive comments and be under their constant observation about what I'm eating and how much weight I've lost. -
Liposuction isn't for weight loss, it's just for contouring. It sounds like you might have body image issues as you seem to be pretty concerned about how you look. You might want to think about why you're considering weight loss surgery.

I never had that problem but I remember my surgeon giving me discharge instructions saying constipation might be a problem and to use Milk of Magnesia.
-
I forgot that I also take biotin gummies from Walgreens.

Fear!!
GradyCat replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's normal to be afraid, after all there are risks with surgery. But look at all the people here on this forum that survived it. I had zero complications and no pain. -
It's a stall. I'm in one too. They're frustrating as all hell but unavoidable. Our bodies are adjusting and need a break from losing. I'm at Week 18 and have been stalled 3 weeks. I'm eating the right foods and calories, enough protein, enough water, enough exercise but still no loss yet. Hanging in there.

Good luck on insurance approval and with your surgery. Happy Easter! -
Stalls suck. I've been in one for 3 weeks now at Week 16 and I want to keep the faith of staying around 700 calories and getting in my water and protein and working out but it's hard when the scale doesn't move.
-
I'm stalled right now at 16 weeks post-op, but I think that's a natural plateau time. Keeping the faith.

Overly full feeling aftet 3 bites of egg
GradyCat replied to Briswife15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eggs are a little hard on your stomach at first, especially hard-boiled eggs. It might be a few weeks before you can have them. -
Meal Plan before Nutrition Education Classes
GradyCat replied to LinaInbaasuu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
60 g of protein per day. Take a dinner plate and fill half of it with protein, 1/4 of it with veggies, and 1/4 of it with grains/carbs. Eat the protein first. If you're full, don't move on to the veggies, if not, go to veggies, then grains last only if hungry.
