So sorry to hear this, but glad the problem is taken care of now. Wishing you a speedy recovery. -

Struggling with support system at home.
GradyCat replied to TravMac's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have to be honest with the psych eval and people trying to care for you. I once heard a saying that people can't "drive" you crazy unless you give them the keys. Are you letting people sabotage you? Stand up for yourself, this is about gaining back control over yourself and your food issues. -
I lost below 40 BMI but I had comorbidities so I didn't worry as long as I didn't go under 35 BMI

I can't stop losing weight
GradyCat replied to ebroms17's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When I first read your title I thought, "what a nice problem to have" but now that I've read your story I see your problem. Have you talked to your PCP? -
Hopefully you'll never have it. You'll know it when you have it. From what I've read it largely has to do with consuming too much sugar/carbs in one setting. So avoid doing that.

Stalled at almost 7 months
GradyCat replied to Sophiasmommy17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Stalls happen. It sounds like you're not in a stall though, you're eating/drinking sugary things that are high in calories. Go back to counting your calories and tracking everything you eat. Focus on protein. -
Good luck on your WLS journey

You JUST had surgery. It'll die down in a couple of days.

That's wonderful news!

And of course there's head hunger, thinking about food, instead of physical hunger too. Sometimes the absence of food makes us "crave" it.
-
I'm six months post-op and I limit my carbs. I don't eat anything starchy like bread, potatoes or pasta.
-
I used to keep cookies on my nightstand and eat them in the middle of the night before I had the surgery. But of course I don't do that anymore now and I haven't felt hungry at 2 am. It might help if you eat more protein during the day to fill you up so you won't be hungry at night.

Voice Change?
GradyCat replied to Mary Sarah Smith's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
No, not that I've noticed. -
I hadn't thought of this yet. I wear the Lane Bryant (Cacique) full cut underwear and mine are getting a little baggy now.

After a couple of weeks you're clear to work out as much as you want, and you should, except for lifting more than 10 pounds you should wait 4-6 weeks. Sure, your friend might be thinking of gaining muscle, but that's a GOOD gain and you'll want to be fit and burn calories, so exercise is important.
-
Surgery is just a tool and won't help you with the head hunger or choosing wrong foods to eat or night eating. Have you thought about going to the group therapy classes offered by your surgeon's office? The head hunger is more of a battle than physical hunger.

Am I getting enough calories
GradyCat replied to Kara Duke's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's too soon to worry about calories and weight loss. Just focus on healing and getting in your liquids and protein. -
Have plenty of variety of liquids to choose from I had Gatorade Zero, unsweet iced tea, Diet Peach Snapple Tea, and sugar-free popsicles in addition to premade GNC Lean Shakes (chocolate)

13 Days Until Sleeved!

It's just normal water and weight daily fluctations probably. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
